TLAC-02255 How do I connect external speakers? I connected the audio wire to the back of the tv but the tv sound is still playing. When I go into the settings, the option for "digital sound" is grayed out. The speakers work, I have connected an external mp3 player to it.

SOURCE: tv dont work with surround sound

It is important to remember that you will not get digital audio out unless your source into the unit is digital, such as digital tuner or Hi Def cable or sattelite.

SOURCE: just purchased polaroid TLAC-02255. when

Not a solution...but an "answer". First, you should call the tech support number and talk to them; but others have posted on this site (and I'm about to) that they're having the same problem (mine won't get cbs or abc stations). I was told, as was another poster on this site, that 'some tvs just don't tune into some stations).

Even though the tvs have built-in ACTS and a NCTS tuner (for analog and hd) they don't always work with external (rabbit ear) antenna.

ANother poster to fixya wrote that she's returning her set to Target...where mine was also purchased. I'm going to ahve to box up ours also and return it, a shame since it was a gift!

Volume up/down won't work

If the display indicator bar moves according the volume setting, and you do not get audio output from it, check the speaker/s first. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience.

I have a Sony Bravia KDL52S5100 , I connected my PS3 through HDMI and connected external speakers through the 3mm audio out on the side. It used to work fine but now the audio is not playing through my...

This information comes from the online reference book: Using the Sound Menu

Use the remote to open the TV menu. Select the Sound menu, and the "speakers" decision. From the two choices, "TV Speakers" tells the tv to use its built-in speakers. "Audio System" tells the TV to use an external audio system, and disables the internal speakers. Select "Audio System," and check to see if it works. If it still hasn't recognized that there is an external audio system plugged in, you may need to clean the stereo mini jack (3mm audio jack) with a small wooden toothpick or similar small diameter non-conducting device.

Hello, I have a very old mitsubishi color tv, model cs 2657r, which I purchased in the late 1980s. The picture is still great, and I'm trying to connect two small external speakers, though the internal...

Try stripping the speaker wires and exposing it about 1 inch. Then connect the speaker wires in a way that the part that grips or holds the wires touches the metal part and not the insulation. If there's still no sound, Please check the external speakers to see if it's working by using them in another device like a home system or audio player or maybe another tv that has an external speaker port. If not, mostly likely the switches are defective and needs replacement by a qualified technician.

Hope this helps.

No sound when I play back using an external micropohone however when I play back on the TV full sound. Any solution?

Microphones are input devices; they don't double as speakers. If you mean that a stand-alone set of speakers do not work, but the internal speakers of the tv do let you hear the audio track from the camera. Then I have a couple of different suggestions: 1) make sure the stand-alone speakers work with other input sources, 2) try a different cable (make sure it is connected properly).

Also how are you connecting to the different devices? The video camera has an HDMI port which will send audio and video to the TV on one cable. If you are using the RCA audio in both cases, then I suspect a problem with the external speakers.

If you mean that the audio track is clear on play-back when you use the built-in microphone during the recording and not heard if the external microphone, check the external mic for problems. Try it on another recording device. I can't rule out a jack failure without more information.

I hope this helps.

How do I connect external speakers

    Connecting Full-Size Speakers
  1. Step 1 Insert the red and white plugs on a set of RCA audio cables into the right and left audio "OUT" jacks on the back of the TV.
  2. Step 2 Connect the other ends of the cables to a free pair of audio "IN" jacks on the amplifier.
  3. Step 3 Strip 1/2 inch of insulation from the speaker wires, and connect a pair of wires to the left and right terminals on the back of each speaker using the red wire for the right audio connection and the other wire for the left.
  4. Step 4 Connect the other ends of the speaker wires to a pair of stereo speaker terminals on the back of the amplifier. The wires attach by raising spring-loaded clips on the back of the amp to reveal a hole for inserting each wire.
  5. Step 5 Set the amplifier selector to the set of audio jacks connected to the TV to enjoy stereo sound from the television.
  6. Connecting Self-Powered Speakers
  7. Step 1 Insert the RCA plugs on the Y adapter into the TV's Audio "OUT" jacks.
  8. Step 2 Connect the mini-plug on the wire attached to the right-hand self-powered speaker to the mini-plug jack on the Y adapter.
  9. Step 3 Plug in the audio cable and mini-plug from the left-hand speaker into the Audio "OUT" jack on the back of the right-hand speaker.
  10. Step 4 Connect the AC adapter to the power jack on the back of the right-hand speaker, then plug the adapter into an electrical outlet.
  11. Step 5 Switch on the external speakers and adjust the volume.

I have a panosonic plasma tv when i switch it on it tell me there is a speaker short and then switches it self of model number pdp507xda help

It's the internal circuitry problem. Try muting it and put audio connection to other speakers if it repeats, your TV audio system is internally dying.the audio connections has to be checked and faulty components should be replaced.
1. Speaker short.
Open it up and check the speaker connections. ONLY if you have basic skills working on electronics and don't have a warranty.
2. Sound Volume "Leveler"
Look in your sound option menu for a sound "balancer" option and turn it off.
If this doesn't work disable the sound and invest in that surround sound system (external speakers solution of your choice)

try this.for first unplug the main power cord of the tv for couple of minutes and then reconnect it.also before reconnecting the power cord of the tv again remove all the external device wires connected at its back such as dvd player/vcr etc etc.just connect only tv wire and check out.if still the same problem then its quite possible that the capacitors and ic on the audio circuit board are getting short in between so the circuit is not getting completed and cutting in between so the tv starts and turns off. if the tv is connected to externalk speakers then check out without connecting the external speakers and see whether it works.if it works that means tv is perfect.but if tv is having inbuilt speakers that its confirm problem with inter audio circuit of tv.so try connecting external speakers at the back of tv and check out.

This will help. Thanks please keep updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya.
