It's a new DVD player...sanyo DVW-5000 model..it has a DVD player and VHS...whenever I try to play a VHS tape the DVD tray just pops out...and then when I wanted to play a DVD the tray would open I would place the DVD in...it would say Disk Loading...and then "Disk Error" and spit the tray back out....Is there a way that I can fix this issue??? Thank you... =)

We lost our original remote also. We got a generic remote. It came w/instructions & a list of brands/devices that it will work with. I found Sanyo on the list & entered the code associated w/Sanyo into the new remote & presto. We were using our DVW 5000 again.
check to see if the disc spins......As in place the disc in the DVD player with the label in a position that is readable to you....Put the disc in close the tray and wait a few seconds. Open the tray and se if the disc actualy has moved. If it hasent then the motor is bad and not worth replacing!
Same problem - same solution. I have tried to verify if there is too much movement in the tray (vertical) but it is a random issue with mine..... except now I can't get system to recognize I want to load DVD instead of tape! See separate thread.
