Samsung SyncMaster 193P, screen completely dead. Small blue power light comes on.

Same problem with my samsung 193p.only i got no picture in a background even when i was using flash lite. These procedure helped me.
Quote:
"I just finished fixing my Samsung 193p LCD with similar problem. The problem was a black/blank screen as if it was off. But if you are going to use a bright flash light there was data in it. So I suspect it was the inverter.
Procedures made.
1. Disconnect the power adapter and the D-sub cable.
2. Remove the small philip screws at the back of the LCD and remove the cover.
3. Remove 4 philip screws.
4. Disconnect the 2 data cables.
5. Openning the white cover is tricky. Use a flat screw driver and press it at the bottom middle part and use a credit card and pry from the middle part going to left or right side.
6. Remove the philip screws (black) around the LCD.
7. Remove the 4 philip screws and 4 at the middle part.
8. Be careful removing the switch cable. It is very fragile one of the 4 wires might come out (I did but fix it).
9. The Inverter board is at the left side. Take and remove the 4 inverter cables and the white wide cable.
10. This is another tricky part. Near the white cable there is a FUSE (brown in color). Check if it is open. If yes, You can use 2 think wires and solder on both ends. (Be careful the size of the fuse is soooo small like a half grain of rice). Or if you have a car fuse you can also use it.
11. Resolder the 6 terminals of the each transformer. There are 2 transformer so 12 terminals in all.
12. Assemble the parts back and you are done.

Good Luck. Happy fixing.

My Dell E193FP boots up with the computer and then

Seems to be a very common problem with this screen. Im taking one apart as we speak to try to discover the problem. In the mean time - check that the Power Input isnt loose, and you can wiggle it around. Usually means the power is arcing onto the board

ViewSonic VA912b monitor fading out during boot

It is probably the power supply, or the inverters.

Similar problem with solution, though it requires you to know something about electronics.

Black Screen

Look in the back of the Gateway where you currently have the video cable connected. If there are two connectors, (Side by Side) there than disconnect & re-connect to the other. Your display should come up. Don't be fooled. Most Pc's that have no display on their monitor is not a monitor problem but a computer problem.

Power Problem

The hissing noise on your speakers is because of arcing. Do not try to operate repeatedly or you may do severe damage. The most likely culprit is the inverter board but you will have to disassemble the monitor to find out. Any loose connection that results in an arc will create noise on speakers. Hissing is usually a result of the high frequency/ voltage output small enough amperage to not blow your power supply If it were a DC arc you would just get a one time pop.

Black Out

Hi Detrix, Check with www.lcdrepair.net if you want a repair. Something is wrong with your LCD controller and or GUI interface circuit or the circuit supplying power to it. If your technically endowed, you may want to open the monitor case and clean the dust and lint from around the circuits using a Small paint brush to sweep away any built up dust. These circuits take the Signal from the computer and controls the 2.5 million pixels on the LCD screen. Dsut can cause major problems with handling all that data. Give it a shot, what do you have to loose, its not dangerous if the monitor is unplugged.

There is an issue with the screen as you say that the sound is coming from the system.I would suggest to contact the manufacturer and get the screen replaced.
