The vcr needs to be unplugged and left for about a day to reset itself.then plugged in back this will adjust the error.

Vcr seems to have quit, will not eject etc

If you can see that your VCR has power (lights up) when you turn it on, but it still won't eject tape, then unplug for a and hour or two. When you turn it on again, it should reset itself and start up. Then you should be able to eject cassette.
If there is no power at all, or you think the taped is jammed and you want to save the tape, remove the top panel of the unplugged VCR and gently remove the tape. Good luck!

System will not eject video tape and is locked

This unit is confused. The timing may be messed up. Try unplugging the unit for 1/2 hour. This will force a system reset and make the unit go through a complete startup check/reset. This may clear it up. If not, hopefully the symptoms will change slightly. Please post the results of the "reset".

Thanks,
Dan

Vcr/dvd combo, vcr no longer will play tape, when I press play, after a few seconds will eject tape.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Please check the eject mechanism and the drive motor connected with the tape mechanism. Try and align the drive motor. Also check the push-pull arm of the tape mechanism and make sure that the springs connected with the mechanism are fine.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

If a DVD or VHS tape was inserted prior to the error occurring, you won't be able to eject either from that point further. They'll remain stuck inside the unit until you've completed the repair detailed below.

Tape Stuck

I've checked the entire user manual which notes problems like this need to be referred to authorized service personnel. Myself, I would unplug the entire unit, put it on a kitchen table using a phillips (cross-tip) screwdriver to remove the top metal shell. Remove at least 2 screws each side and 2-5 rear screws securing the top. Nothing like peering inside to see what is causing the VCR to get stuck and help remove it. No release pinhole or tape freeing ejector will work if the unit's tape is tightly wound around some internal object or the tape is stuck because something foreign is inside the unit.
