How often does this happen? How long does it do this for? After it happens, does it look normal again? It sounds like your monitor is automatically "degaussing" (de-gowse-ing) -- this is a process which reduces built-up magnetic fields on the monitor which can affect how it looks over time. Usually, you'll hear a noise when it does it, and at the end of the process, usually a distinct "click" when it snaps back to regular operation. Some monitors do this automatically when they are turned on, and some can be made to do it manually. I've not seen one that just does it at random times though.

VGC-V617G model Can't fix aspect/ratio on monitor. There is a one inch stripe on both sides.

using the menu button on your monitor, find the icon that indicates an arrow pointing left and right. increase the value until the image reaches the egde of the screen. if this doesnt cure your problem, you may need to adjust your screen resolution in the display feature located in your control panel to 1024x768 . this setting should fit most any flat panel monitor screen size. if its not what you like, you can choose from the multiple options to find the resolution that best fits your preference. be sure to hit the apply button when you are satisfied with your selection.

Why does everything on my screen look so small?

Hi:
One thing you can try is to right click your mouse, and go to properties, and lower your screen resolution settings. The higher the settings, the better quality picture, but icons and writing will get smaller and smaller. You just need to set it to something that is good for you! After you change it, you have about 30 seconds to accept your change, or it will go back the way it was.

There is a black 2 1/2inch bar on leftside of screen how do i adjust is?

if your lucky it's just your H-center is off tilt. to check this Press the menu button on your monitor. scroll through the options till you see Horizontal-center option. select this setting and move the screen to the left. The entire screen should start shifting to the left and fill in the screen. now if you do this and you get a black bar on the right. Center the screen where you have the same amount of black on both sides of the screen. scroll through your menu till you see the H-size. increasing this will fill in the black area. Hope this helps.
