Concave Images with pink and green colors

My television is about five years old and now the lettering and picture at the top and/or bottom of it is concave. The picture is very blurry too with green and pink colors outlining people and or objects on the televison. I tried flash focus which did absoluting nothing. DVD's also have the same problem. Wondering if easy fix or just get rid of due to cost?

Sounds like a convergence circuit issue.

Hi,do you hear buzzing ,whirling,or high pitch sounds? If you do it could be an issue with the color wheel. The Samsung BP96-00674A color wheels spin anywhere from 6,000 to 15,000 revolutions per minute (RPM’s)--It is one of the few consumable parts in your Samsung TV. The average life expectancy from our data logging shows the Samsung color wheels are fairly reliable with a MEAN average of 5-8 years But it could also be the Dmd board this is how it works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Baisclly the DMD board creates the images and colors through its chip that has 2 million pixels, when that chips goes out you'll see either lines ,pixelation and dicoloration. One simple way to see if it is the Dmd its to display menu if it's also appears distorted that will be what it is.

Picture has 3 images, all different colors (red-blue-green) screen looks concave in the middle top & bottom

This is what is known as convergence..(very common)... first question DO you have the "CONVERGENcE" option in your setup menu?.... if you dont there may be a special fuse issue... if not then more than likely it is what is known as convergence power supply issue. you have complete loss of convergence?

Bowing at the bottom of the picture

your convergence ICs need to be changed both of them. You can get replacements at the following and they include free installation instructions with free onkine tech support when you do the repair. heres the link your model should take STK392-110 or STK392-120 which interchange but the 120s are a better chip.
