It works fine up to about 7 or 8 but if i turn the volume past that it just goes silent. it just started doing this for no reason? i took it apart to the point where i was literrally holding a pile of pc boards in my hand but couldnt find anything worng with it? so i put it back together and it still wont work right?

Its not the control, its definitely a power/amplification/drive/amp issue. im familiar with pots, it wouldnt be acting the way it is popping out and in if it was the pot. It sounds like a compression pop when it goes out then lightly compression pops as it comes back in. basically, a better way to describe this would be that when i turn the input level of music on the computer down to 25% i can turn the stereo to max and it still works perfectly, but if i turn the computer volume up, it cuts out and goes silent like it dont have the juice to go that high anymore.
