Duet washer, water leaks out onto the floor, when not running.

We have been told to leave the door to the washer open after finishing a load of laundry to prevent it from smelling and collecting mold. But when we return to the laundry room we find water all over the floor below the washer. Why would it be leaking when it is not even turned on?????

Frigidaire gallery front load washer dripping sound

With any front load machine manufacturers suggest to leave the door open after cycles to help evaporate the water - this is even done in top loading machines nowadays. Also clean the unit with bleach water and rinse in high temp water cycles.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

I would suspect the water inlet control valve may be malfunctioning- not closing (its default no power position).
Quick temporary fix, although tiresome, turn whichever tap, hot or cold, off when washing finished. You've probably already thought of that!
In the meantime I would suggest a service call is required ;-0(

Water is pouring out of the bottom part of the washer door.

If your Whirlpool FRONT LOADER is leaking, the following link can give you guidance on how to inspect the washer to determine where the source of the leak may be coming from:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576656-washer_leak__front_loader

Most commonly, the source of the leak comes from the door bellow (gray rubber seal). They do wear out with age and can develop small rips and tears. A routine inspection of the perimeter of the door seal can determine if you have any holes. If the seal is damaged, it must be replaced. The following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574186-installing_a_door_bellow_on_a_front_load

The manufacturer recommends that you leave the washer door open between washes to prevent the seal from becoming permanently stretched. Once the seal stays compressed constantly it can stretch and not seal properly. In addition, leaving the door open helpd let the wash tub air out and prevent mold, mildew and musty odors.

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following web sites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between sites, so shop and compare. The first three sites listed also have helpful exploded view parts illustrations to assist you with locating and properly identifying the parts you may need.

If you have any questions, please post back with your complete MODEL NUMBER and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Whirlpool Front load washer - Water leaking

I would check to see if you have a hole or crack in the rubber boot inside the door. Open the door and seperate the fold in the rubber boot and check for a leak. If something sharp was left in someones pocket it will get stuck in this part of the bood.

Random filling of the tub, door open, leaks on floor.

The only thing that can admit water with the power off to the machine is a bad Fill valve. Replace

When the washer is off, even if the door is left open, the tub will fill with water and leak onto the floor.

sounds as if you have a bad inlet water vavle, it doenst complety shut off after use, and waer will trickle in( adding up to quite a bit in a day) youll need to replace the water inlet valve(directly behind themachine where the hoses hook into). in the meantime turn off water inbetween uses

Fills on its own door open or closed

I would bet the water inlet valve is weeping. It may not seal shut every time. It could have a piece of rest stuck in it also. It's cheap and easy to replace. The part # AP3128776.
