I own a Technics RS-B49R tape deck (european version). It presents some clicking while playing back a tape. I opened it and found out that the microcontroller (LM 6413 E located at IC-901) is not working. It is impossible to find a new replacement for this microcontroller, the deck is too old. I was planning to buy an old technics tape deck and use it as replacement bank of parts but I need to find a compatible tape deck. Doing some research on Internet I can not find any compatibility information on Technics tape decks. I have found some of them (RS-B48R and RS-B29R), they are cosmetically similar, but I do not know if their parts and electronic boards are similar. Any idea? Thanks in advance for your help.
I am sure there is one available or suitable sub . I wonder if technics would provide more information if you contacted them or a local electronics store.
A microcontroller may or may not be programmed for a specific purpose so, that also may be an issue if not purchesd froma source used for that device.
There is also a forum called tapeheads:

I found some links here and even a few sold for parts around 15 bucks:

check your inputs on that machine. there are settings that you need to do. when you put a tape in the minidv, does it play fine? if it does, you need to check your input setting on that machine..good luck

I have seen a couple of these decks that had broken solder connections at the rear AC power connector. the main board has to be removed to access the connections.

above video should help. if your platter is "stuck" then call them for tips. also make sure it does NOT say "direct drive" on the front of the unit.
presuming you are talking about the SL-H350 as in the body not the SL-DZ1200 as in the title
SOURCE: tape deck no longer plays large DVCpro tapes
the tape compartment elevator has switch senors that tell the machine what size tape is in..
does the tape load all the way.. you need to tell us
is there an error code ?
either the sensor or the reel motors the feed and uptake the tape,,
they ride on rails and slide into position to accomodate the tape side they could be having trouble moving, dirty, broken actuator
SOURCE: My Technics stereo system ...the display screen shows nothing
The question is, do you hear any sound? Is just the display off or is the entire unit shutdown? Can you tell?
These displays are known to develope poor solder connections at the power input and ground pins. If you can solder, open up the unit (unplugged of course) and examine the pins for the display. This will be on the PC board attached to the front panel. The pins at either end of a long line of pins will be the power and ground pins. Reasolder those pins, taking care not to short the pins together and try the unit once done. If that does not resolve the problem (assuming it is just a display problem), update this with as many details as you can about the behavior of the unit and we'll look further.
