The main control board thinks the door switch circuit is "open" - you would need a professional to . Is the loading door closed? No, close the door. Yes, go to step (2). 2. Disconnect the plug from J2 on the Main Control Board and check for continuity between the pins in the plug. Open, check the door strike. If good, replace the door switch assembly. Closed, replace the Main Control Board.

SOURCE: Affinity ATF7000 washer high speed spin not

I am not a repair professional. I am just a 78 year old
man who has been making his own repairs for about
50 years. Therefore the washer or dryer ID doesn't
mean much to me. I came to fixya looking for a
schematic for an really old AM/FM radio and
discovered that more than 4,700 people were asking
for help with a washer repair. I recently had a washer
repair of my own and found an excellent video which
showed me how to take my machine apart. This
video made it possible for me to do my own repair. I
was so impressed with the video that when I saw all
these people needing help, I wanted to tell them
about it. If you have a top loader (washer) of the
direct drive type, this video might be a Godsend for
you. If you look at the back of your washer and the
panel is solid (no small inspection plate to remove)
chances are you have a direct drive and this video
is just what you need. You can see this video at
www.acmehowto.com You will probably need
more help in determining what the problem is and
how to fix it. If your repair problem is a washer or
dryer I suggest you go to www.applianceaid.com
where they have very good trouble shooting and
repair information on most washers and dryers.
I think you'll find what you need there. Don't worry
about the timer, they hardly ever go bad. Good
luck with it. If I have helped you, please rate my
advice on fixya.

SOURCE: Frigidaire Affinity ATF7000 - E20 error code

Thanks to the different postings on the net about a E20 error code I took apart my washer’s drain system ATF7000 to find. A pare of little girls underpants, one hair band, one plastic green gem, a golf ball sized wad of wrappers/stickers/???, and almost two dollars in coins. All caught up in the plastic strainer located inside the black rubber boot found on the bottom of the tub leading into the drain pump.
Here is how I did it: After emptying the washer of sloppy contents, I sucked as much of the water out with a shop-vac. I then turned the washer onto it’s left side gently using a couple of towels as a cushion (unplugging the washer and hoses first). From the bottom and back panel you can access the drain hose/pump/coin catch. With a pair of pliers you can remove the clamp holding smaller end of the rubber coin catch to the tub, with a Phillips screw driver you can remove the larger clamp of the rubber coin catch to the tub. From the back panel you again use your pliers to remove the clamp to the drain line, and finally with a Philips screw driver remove the two screws holding the pump to the bottom of the washer. Oh yah, do not forget to unplug the wire from the pump. Now pull the pump out with the black rubber boot still attached. Mark the orientation of the pump to the boot with a sharpie pen, and remove the last clamp. Now look inside the black rubber boot and gently remove the plastic basket inside, there you will find the treasures that just wasted the last hour of your time. Now reveres those steps, reinsert the half washed clothes, and enjoy your new machine.
Thanks again to everyone that has posted before me, otherwise I wouldn’t have known were to even start looking. I hope this helps someone.

SOURCE: I have an Frigidaire Affinity

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

E41 error indicates that the problem is with door lock assembly, it is displayed when the control board thinks that the door switch is open. To solve this problem you have to remove the door lock assembly and measure the resistance of the PTC. If it reads open then the door lock assembly needs replacement however, if the reading is around 1500 ohms then replacing the control board is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Everything works but it does not spin

There is an auxiliary switch in the door lock and switch assembly that is activated at the end of the wash cycle for the machine to advance to the spin cycle. This is a safety feature to prevent the door from opening during the spin cycle and the machine will not spin unless the switch is activated. The machine works except advancing to the spin cycle and this signifies that the auxiliary switch cannot be activated and the door lock and switch assembly is faulty. Replaced the door lock and switch assembly (part #131763202) to address the issue. Click on the link below for the complete and detailed procedure.

I have a Affinity frigidaire front load washer and need to replace part number 131763202. The model number of the washer is ATF6000FS1 Thank you in advance

Disconnect power then open the door and remove the spring-hoop assembly that secures the door gasket. Peel off the part of the door gasket near the door lock and switch assembly. Remove the screws securing the door lock and switch assembly to the front panel then pull the door lock and switch assembly out. Transfer the wires to the new door lock and switch assembly then install into place. Put the door gasket back and secure it with the spring-hoop assembly. Washer does not spin but drains

The door switch probably needs to be replaced. If its defective, it will not allow the machine to spin. Its a common problem with the Affinity.

Front load washer won't spin

Probably a bad secondary door switch if only the spin is not working. Put the washer in diagnostic mode and you can confirm that it will spin. Diagnostic mode overrides the safety so it will spin with the door unlocked (don't stick your arm in there). Pull the door switch out and check the resistance of the wax motor - it must be 1.5megaohms. Mine was 1.0 and it wouldn't work. It's a $22 part - or $65 for the whole door switch if you don't want to bother disassembling it.
