Are you sure you are getting signal to the amp. Try another signal source. try temporarily connecting the shield of the input cable to the car body ground. The signal ground may be open in the head unit due to a previusy faulty amp. Most newer head units ave tis signal ground fused inside the head unit.Older ones ma have bunt circuit trace. If it works when you groud the input to the car body this is what has happend. The previous amp had an open power ground so the curent when to use the signal ground but it will not hold the curent so it in turn opened.

Why doesnt my 2400 watt amp turn on?

The size of the wire affects the performance of an amp, but the amp should still turn on. 12 volts is 12 volts. So you tested with another amp, on the same wires, and it works fine. The only thing you can really check on the new amp is the fuses in the side. If those are blown, then you should be able to (Unless the amp is fried, and that's why it blew the fuses in the first place) fire it right up. If the fuses arent blown, and you have all your power, and ground, and still nothing.. Well then in that case the amp is just bad, and regardless of the wattage, you just don't fix a Pyle amp.

Amp wont turn on

have you checked the remote wire is supply power? try jumping the main power wire t the remote wire to see if it turn on. Also check that your ground wire is securely making contact.

No sound from my woofer

Check your speaker connections... try using a multimeter set to "OHMS" and see if the speaker is reading around 4-8 ohms... if it shows no reading there is no continuity in the coil of the speaker

Kenwood kac-5201 amp

12 VOLT FROM THE BATTERY SOURCE GOES TO 12VOLT BATT CONNECTION.12 VOLT GROUND RETURN MUST BE FIXED TO THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE.SOME VEHICLES HAVE FACTORY GROUNDS UP HIGH ON THE SIDES OF MOST VEHICLES, U CAN USE THIS GROUND LOCATION. IF CONNECT REMOTE WIRE FROM THE RADIOS REMOTE TURN ON LEAD WHICH IS A BLUE/WHITE WIRE OR A STANDARD BLUE IF ITS JUST ONE BLUE WIRE. CONNECT THIS LEAD TO THE REMOTE TURN ON CONNECTION ON THE AMP , SOME KENWOODS HAVE TWO ,INPUT AND OUTPUT LEADS.U ALSO NEED A TEST LIGHT, OR U CAN USE A SPEAKER TO TEST FOR POWER AT UR CONNECTION.IF U USE A TEST LIGHT , CLAMP THE END U WOULD GROUND TO THE VEHICLE, TO THE AMPS GROUND, THEN TOUCH THE PROBE END OF THE TEST LIGHT TO UR WIRED CONNECTION TO VERIFY U HAVE POWER AND GROUND TO YOUR CONNECTION.IF TEST LIGHT DOESN'T WORK ,CHECK UR FUSE AND REMOTE TURN OR LEADS.

My 800 watt kenwood

Sounds like you shorted out the main power wire somewhere and killed the amp. Is the amp on the fuse intact or blown? Do you have 12 volts at the amp? check you connections and see if it helps.

Doesn't turn on

You need to confirm that the B+ voltage isn't dropping at the amp.

With your multimeter set to DC volts, the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp (not on the point where the ground wire connected to the vehicle) and the head unit on (so the amp will have remote voltage applied), touch the red lead alternately to the B+ and remote terminals of the amp. If the voltage is below ~11 volts, you need to check the wiring feeding whichever line is too low.

Amp light is on but no power to my subs!

Hi There.

When you say the 40 Amp fuse blew. Was it your mains battery fuse or was it the fuse on the amplifier? If it was the fuse on the amplifier then you may have hurt the amplifier. The Kenwood KAC-8101D is a 1000 Watt monoblock amplifier. Therefore if you say that 1 of your woofers is not playing, then it is almost certainly blown if you are sure it is connected correctly. Try disconnecting it and only running the woofer that tries to play. If this woofer is still working correctly, you will notice a drastic drop if the sound of your bass. The reason for this is because you have changed the impedance load on your amplifier due to the fact that the other woofer is not working. Have your working woofer checked and replace the faulty woofer then you should be banging again.

Hope this helps!!

Kenwood KAC-PS201T

The first thing you must do is to confirm that you have voltage at the amp. Just because the fuses look good, that doesn't mean you're getting power to the amp.

With your multimeter set to DC volts, the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp and the head unit on (so the amp will have remote voltage applied), touch the red lead alternately to the B+ and remote terminals of the amp. If the voltage is below ~11 volts, you need to check the wiring feeding whichever line is too low.

Amp won't turn on don't know if amp is fried

Very possible that you have a blown power supply in the amp. If you are running a mono amp then there is a very good chance that you have loaded your amp with too low of a speaker impedence and fried the power supply and maybe the output section of the audio area. Hope this helps.
