Go to the BIOS configuration screen and tell the computer to boot from the DVD first, and hard drive second. Look for the "Repair Install" option n the install CD startup screen. If that doesn't work, you can at least start over with the installation.
I hope you backed up all of the work-related material before you started installation; If not, you may have to make a Linux trial/install memory stick and use it to copy your Documents folder to an external hard drive. Post a request for info on this to the comments if you need to do this (for example, if you wind up formatting the hard drive and doing a clean install of Windows 7).

Hi,
Boot your computer with the recovery CD In the Drive.
You should get the option ** Boot From CD**
highlight click Yes, and overwrite the O/S.
This will re-install windows over your existing version, replacing any corrupt-deleted-missing Files.

your laptop has been turned off without shutting down. all your laptops registries are probably messed up. the easiest way to do is to reformat your computer or restore it to factory settings. unless you have some important files that you cant afford to lose.

If you have the option of going to a command prompt (on the choose how to start "text" screen), do it, and type at the C:> fdisk /mbr then press the ENTER key. This may fix things. Also, try removing the battery when the computer is off, wait about a minute, then replace it and start computer. This actually helps sometimes.
