Make sure that the wifi settings you have are connect.
See if you are able to connect to another wifi connection. -Make sure you know the wireless settings for the other wifi connection. -You may also want to try to connect to an unsecured wifi.
Turn
on your DS and navigate to the WiFi connection settings menu. On a DSi,
click the wrench icon, navigate to the third page of options and select
"Internet." On an original DS or DS Lite, select "Edit WiFi Settings"
from the in-game menu. The game must be WiFi compatible to access the
WiFi settings menu.
Select "Connection Settings."
Choose an open connection slot, which will be indicated by the word "None" next to the connection number
Select "Search for an Access Point."
Select
your wireless network from the list displayed. Enter the wireless
encryption code for your network with the onscreen keyboard.
Select "OK" when prompted to save your settings and establish a connection with the network.
There are certain types of WiFi that can't be picked up by the DS Lite which prompts you error 51099. For example, you can't use a security protected WEP WiFi. I encountered this problem with my DS also and if you know how to remove the password on your WiFi router, that should solve the problem, however it leaves your network unsecured so I suggest doing that only to receive the event gift.
Nintendo also has a detailed troubleshoot guide for that error which I've provided a link below.

Cheers and good luck with getting Victini!
This is a very easy thing to do.
Insert a game that is compatible with WiFi.
Then hit the Wireless button, or, in games like Pokemon, diamond pearl and so on, the WiFi connection setup. It will look like a DS, or a WiFi symbol, witch is like semi circles on top of one another, getting bigger. From there just hit WiFi setup.
Something is wrong with your wireless router. I think Wii's connection to a router is WEP-Shared,or WEP-Open. Try all of the authentications.
Ok,just follow this.
1) Load up Wifi Connections and stuff.
2) Go to your computer and go to this website nintendowifi.com
3) http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/routers/index.jsp Check out which router you have.
4) If you have any of these, your lucky. Just follow this: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/getOnline/index.jsp
5) Also look under your router for the WEP key or whatever...
I hope I helped! Sincerely,Frankwarrior.
Did you try to set up your Wi-fi connection settings or your not in a good Wi-fi connection zone.If that doesn't work mabey not made by or for nintendo.
Usually when you connect to Wifi, you automatically get a connection code. You do not usually need a code to connect... Something may be wrong with your DS's connection.
i can't get connected to my wireless box onhttp://www.nintendowifi,com
