Can't get barcodes to scan?

Hi, i'm having trouble trying to print barcodes that will scan properly. They look "patchy" and have broken lines. I've tried tighening and loosening the tensioner springs on the print head with no luck? I've also tried printing diffrent barcode densitys to see if it made a diffrence again with no luck... Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Chris.

Change your printing speed, it will make it print darker and have better quality of print

Did you try the PAUSE test? if not turn off you printer press and hold PAUSE button then power on the printer after a 4 sec release it will print note u must pause it bcoz it will continue printing.. then look out the print out look for the white vertical line if it has your printhead is defective..

Have you tried different darkness settings? it sounds like you only need to turn the darkness up a little.

    And slow down the print speed, doing that will make it darker and better print quality

BROTHER MFC J435W BARCODE PRINTING PROBLEMS

Sounds like a problem with the printer. The software that came with the printer should have some tools that might help you, My old Epson printer came with a set of tools, one in particular tool (which may help you) was head aligment. This use to fix the issue of non straight lines being printed. Head cleaner was another tool i would use to have thin consistent lines printed. Check your printer install cd and add the extra software if all you have installed is the basic driver.

S605 ink printing patchy

A firmware update for your model addresses print quality issues. Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark S400 Series Firmware Update. If more than one download is listed for your model, choose the first download in the list. If it is the wrong firmware level, an error message will tell you which firmware level is correct.
Try to print again to verify that the print quality has improved.

Should the problem continue, it could be that the printhead itself is the problem. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for assistance.

After scanning it is automatically not going to the next line

Symbol barcode scanners by default do not add a return after a scan. You need to program the scanner to add a suffix.

Hi.. Just follow these steps, hope this may trouble shoot your barcode printer.
1) Restart Your Computer/ Barcode Printing S/w / Barcode Printer/ and try now.
2) Even if it does not work, check the cable connectivity with printer and system
3) Even it is not working, try printer calibration or labels feed options in printers.
4) Check the proper sensor adjustments in printers,

Incomplete patchy printing

Hello,

Please try to do a printer head cleaning. You can do it by getting a small earbud and soak it with a small amount of water. Or try to adjust it by doing an alignment. Usually, the printers have this functionality. Please refer to the user manual.

Barcodes not scanning

Very possible you have a bad printhead. If you have a bad dot in your print area, it can cause barcodes to not scan. Look to see if you have a blank vertical line running down your label.

Z4M is printing fine white lines in the barcode

As the label comes out of the printer...it sounds like your printing in picket fence mode (vertical bars). You most likely have 1 or more pixels out on the printhead...try cleaning first...if that fails... you will have to replace the printhead.
