Blue screen When we turn the tv on we have a clear picture but within 5 seconds it turns blue and stays blue for over an hour or so. Then the picture comes back, but still has a shade of blue to it. The tv is only 3 years old. Any suggestions before I call a repair service? Thank you!

Thank you for the solution. But, do you have any idea why it happened and how much it will cost to have rebuilt?

You have a power supply problem. Within about 32 seconds the picture drops out because the backlite transformers shutdown. Yoy will have to find a new power supply or have some one fix yours.

RCA TV. No picture yet has sound.

I unplugged the tv and the cable box and pulled out the battery of controls for 12 hours. When I turn on again, the tv and cable box back to normal.

TV turned off itself

Can you still turn it on?
If so, does it stay on with sound?

If the sound is ok and the picture is blue (even when changing channels, inputs, etc.) the lamp may have gone out.

Can you see the TV menu when you press the menu button on the remote or TV?

it is a brandnew tv, so expected that it is under warranty,, it best for you to return where you bought so the warraty will not void. Big possible of factory deffect.

Mono setting?

What channel is it and when they tune in that channel, is the picture nice and clear or is it grainy and snowy before the screen goes blue? On some sets, if the signal is weak, the picture will go blue. This is called Blue Screen and is there so you do not see very poor, grainy and snowy pictures. Some sets will have an option in the menu to turn the blue screen off.
