Question about RJ Tech RJ-3900 DVD Player
I bought a RJ Tech RJ-200BK last year, Now after power on, press the open/close buttom the tray did not open, when turn off power and turn on again the tray automatically out but hard to push in and out again, only after turn-off power, you can push the tray in, also other buttoms do not work too. Thanks for help.
I heard that no universal remotes have codes for RJ-TECH products. Also each remote has separate codes for each brand was told by another person, My remote broke as well and I found that a lot of remotes around the house had certain buttons that did different features on my dvd player. So if you have a remote which can record the infared codes for each button (Macro codes or something) that would work but I am not sure if there is a way to get the exact buttons on a universal remote to work on the dvd player. The second option is buy a universal remote from RJ-TECH if they sell them. I am just about to check for myself now, if they dont have 1 I'm buying a new DVD player cause its usesless if I cant control all the features without a remote.

SOURCE: Tray won't open
Being new to this, the other Fix was more of a rough draft. Here is a better improved solution.
I hate to say this all sounds too familiar. I also fought with exactly the same troubles. I was able to force the tray open using the open button and pulling with my finger nails or other slim object under the the front and center of the tray. It made a funny (sic) unusual rattling noise when sliding, like a belt had broke or something else. The player was a gift to me for christmas '08 so with that and my handyman curiosity & capabilities I had to try and fix it. Once I got the top off (details not here) I found that an axel with its wheel were coming apart (broken). I Superglued the wheel but that only lasted a couple days. The wheel helps guide a belt that drives the tray forward & backward. I figure its faulty hardware & manufacturing that should be handled as such. Good Luck to anyone whom this may help. My heart goes out to you. Tom.
