I took the fryer apart to wash and clean it and after that the door does not spring open anymore nor does it stay open. Could it be that I put it back together incorrectly?
Yes you need to make sure the springs didnt fly off when you opened the panel, otherwise look for the mounting post that the spring should hook into

I had this same problem which is how I came across your post, and I found on the Rival website ( www.rivalproducts.com ) you can email the company and tell them the model number and they will email you the manual, and if you're like me and hate to wait that long, you can call their customer service number and tell them what you need and they will email you the manual in about an hour. The number the website gave me was 1-800-323-9519, and I also realized there was also a number on the box too.

about the Lid, make sure that you have the control panel firmly in the two grooves and the lid will stay shut. If it isn't in the right grooves, the lid will not shut. My husband had to point that out to me when I was having the same problem.

Try ebay, as there always replacements part for just about anything, keep an eye out for one. They also have a posting site called "want it now". Just ask for what you want, and when someone has it, they can contact you! Good Luck!
