Question about Panasonic KX-T7633 Corded Phone
We have a phone which takes voice mail messages but the red light does not light when a message is left. I have read your suggestions and I am guessing this has something to do with either synchronization or voice mail system has to be told where to light the lamp. Can you help with further instructions?

The 7633 has a FWD/DND button. Is it blinking, lit solid or dark? It's designed to be pressed 3 times for FWD DND or OFF....It's programmed as follows, assuming that 500 is your voice mail access code:
From the intercom dial *7101. That sets DND. Dial 710x 500 # to set call forwarding where x-2 for all calls 3 for BUSY for for NO ANS 5 for BSY/NA. 7&8 are FOLOW ME commands and they have a different set of instructions ie Dial *7107 plus your extension to have calls come to the phone you're at and *7108 plus your extension to cancel it. I have never seen it used. *7100 cancels all forward and DND arrangements from your phone..
This is just hte command set for ALL CALLS. You can also set up forwarding for Outside Calls and Inside calls seperately and you can program buttons to do the forwarding.
Your Panasonic dealer has 2 manuals that you would find interesting, one is the TDA Operating Manual and the PTPM Manual. The operating manual has a complete set of programming instructions for the manager and users of TDA systems, the PTPM has a complete set of programming features that can be performed from a Panasonic 76XX display phone.
THe pdf's aren't huge and they can be sent to your email address if you provide one under the Ask Me button.

The red light is MESSAGE WAITING. It is not necessarily VM notification. Press the MESSAGE button and look at the display. One of the soft keys will let you CLEAR the message and it will tell you where it came from. It's set by anybody calling your phone, and randomly, it is set by dialing your extension plus "4". Oops. It's a Pana mystery :-)

SOURCE: New Voice Mail message
You received a message on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. To hear the message, dial the voicemail number provided by your service provider (in many cases, this will be your own phone number), and follow the voice instructions for listening to your messages. You need to store the voicemail access # by pressing [MENU], [#] ,, on the handset. To access the voicemail, press [TALK], then softkey [VM]. Depending on your service provider, you may need to clear your voice mailbox to remove the notification.

You are asking about changing you voice mail and phone system settings. Your phone can work on several different Panasonic phone systems and you could have different voice mail systems as well.
The phone KX-T7633 has only a user guide that covers the basic features of the phone itself. You need a programming and installation manual for your phone system AND your voice mail. They are not the same part and have different manuals.
So, your first step is to find out the model number of your phone system and voice mail system.
