Fruit is a great treat for your bird. Pretty much any type of fruit is good, but remember to take anything out the cage that hasn't been eaten within a couple of hours or it will grow bacteria.

Try
to feed them food with a high fat content like peanuts and other seed mixtures
high in oils. You can also feed them
certain foods from your kitchen such as cooked potatoes, pastries and dried
fruits.
This
depends on the species you want to attract; however there are some foods that
are more likely to attract than others.
Fruits, such as bruised apples/pears are a great way to attract birds,
as well as mixed seeds containing sunflower seeds and flaked maize.

Although there is some overlap, the food you give your pet bird may not be exactly the same as the food eaten by birds in the wild. Here is a link to a recipe for a wild bird treat on the National Geographic site, so you can be sure it's appropriate for wild birds.
African
greys in the wild feed primarily on fruits and seeds, and palm nuts but captive-bred
African Greys are fed a diet of seeds, grain, pellets and frits and vegetables.
I would also recommend adding calcium to their diet by scraping the cuddlebones
over their food or mixing grinded egg shells in their food.
