if you are going to install an aftermarket stereo then you can go to your local walmart or look online for a wiring adapter that matches your year make and model hen simply match the wires of the new harness to the wires of the new stereo and plug it in. if you are doing something else ill need more details.
If you are putting in a new stereo with all the pretty blinky lights, you will probably not use those wires. They are part of your interior lighting system (backlight for original radio.)
The white wire is the Park/marker Lamp Relay output signal. The Orange wire is the dimmer control signal (AKA "Illumination Control"). These both come from your Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) module.
Dont know if you tried this already but go to a car audio store and ask for an adapter the plugs into your stereo and then it plugs into the factory wiring harness. its easier and cleaner and less stressfull. if you done so write back and Ill see if I can send you a pick or something.
ILL stands for Illumination... basically when you dim the lights in your car using the dimmer switch, this will change the back light on the stereo unit.
Hi the problem with getting the code is the age of the vehicle now if the stereo is original then it might have the code written on sticker on the case of the stereo so you need to remove the stereo and have a look. If the code isnt on the stereo then if you still have the original hand book for the car it might be written in their but the chances of you having this is very slim. The only other place you can get the code from is a ford dealers they have these code wriiten on computer for this problem. What ill do whilst i wait for your reply is ask around people i know as im a car mechanic so ill ask around for you ok ill get back to you shortly
