SOURCE: Mac mini does not recognize web cam.

Mac's have a set of built in drivers that list a group of brands they support with out additional drivers. I can't remember which ones but they tend to like logitech cameras a lot better. They like iSight camera's the best.

You have to download a seperate driver for mac such as Popcorn. You can get this at Roxio.com

http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/popcorn/standard/overview.html

I don't know of any freeware but if you look around I'm sure you can find some

SOURCE: Mac Mini G4 turns itself ON

Have you looked into System Preferences>energy saver>schedule? Maybe it's set up to start itself. I have my mother's mac set to start up and shut down automatically. Just a thought.

I want to connect an LG 32LD550 television monitor to an Intel based 24" I mac computer---what cable is needed?

The LG 32LD550 television has HDMI and VGA.
Your iMac has a mini-DVI output port with support for DVI, VGA, S-video, and composite video connections via adapter.
So all you need is either:
1) mini-DVI to VGA adapter.
2) mini-DVI to HDMI adapter.

HDMI is better quality, and so I'd recommend something like this: http://www.amazon.com/PTC-Mini-DVI-Adapter-6ft-Macintosh/dp/B001H0REVK (You may want a longer cable though).
