I have the maytag ensignia washer...none of the cold water settings are working...i have cold water coming through to my laundry tub sitting next to the washer...if i set the dial to say...warm wash cold rinse...warm works...cold doesn't...same with cold wash cold rinse...no cold at all...
You need to remove the cover and check the voltage to the cold water inlet valve. Do this with a volt meter while it is set to fill with cold water. It is most likely an AC voltage that is around 24 volts. If you have voltage then the valve is most likely bad.

Check the water level control, it could be stuck or faulty.

It sounds like you have the hot and cold water lines to the washer reversed. Try turning off the tap for the hot water then setting the washer to just cold wash and then hot washif you get nothing on the cold and cold water when set to hot they are probably reversed. Typically if the auto-temp control is broken you will only get hot or cold coming out on any setting.

I have the same problem on a Maytag Ensignia washer (model number MAV6358AWW). I have a temporary fix that sometimes works. When the problem occurs, I just play around with the Automatic Temperature Control feature.
Here's an example sequence of steps:
1) Problem: On cold/cold setting, no water comes out.
2) Switch to warm/cold setting. Water starts coming out.
3) Turn "Auto Temperature Control" on.
4) Switch to cold/cold setting. Now only cold water comes out, as desired.
5) (Optional) Turn "Auto Temperature Control" off.
6) (Optional) Shut off hot water valve at the wall. That's because warm water sometimes comes out on the cold/cold setting on my machine. Remember to turn it back on when you're done with your load.
