HTC 6800 Alltel. I can only get it to sync with windows media. I cannot get it to sync with Outlook. Windows Mobile Device Center in Vista does not open like it should. It only says "connected," but will not open the full center, as it should look like. I have downloaded the newest version patches of Windows Mobile Device Center, but nothing has changed. Been spending hours and hours on this thing! Please help! Thank you.

Hi i need imate jasjam PC suit, and speaker not working

Thanks for visiting FixYa!

Your phone was manufactured by HTC and uses the Windows Mobile Operating Platform. As such there are two programs you can download but which one you need will depend on your computer's operating system.

Download and install Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 if you run Windows Vista or Windows 7 on your computer and you want to sync content between your mobile phone and your computer. Windows Mobile Device Center is only compatible with Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Download here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931937

Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 is the latest sync software release for Windows Mobile-powered devices. ActiveSync provides a great synchronization experience with Windows®-powered PCs and Microsoft Outlook right out of the box. Note: Microsoft ActiveSync works only with Windows XP SP2 or earlier. Where can i get the pc suit of this cellphone??

It's a Windows Mobile 6 Standard phone, and, as such, it requires either ActiveSync (for Windows XP) or Windows Mobile Device Center (for Vista and 7) installed on your PC, in order to get synchronized. Go to this page and install the version which better suits your machine. They are connection management applications only. So, if you plan to sync PIM data, such as calendar, contacts, e-mail, you must have Outlook installed. If you want to sync media files, such as music, playlists, video, Windows Media Player should be on your PC too.
By the way, if your phone's user manual happens to be missing, feel free to download it from this location.
Please, let me know if I can help you any further.
Regards, Carlos

Window Vista syncronizing with iPAQ 3835 problem

In order to sync any iPAQ with Windows Vista, you will need to download and install Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/device-center-download.mspx.

Activesync will only work for XP Operating Systems and earlier.
Notes
  • To find out whether your version of Windows Vista or Windows 7 is 32-bit or 64-bit, click Start, right-click Computer, and then click Properties. The version is listed after System Type.
  • You can use Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 only with phones running Windows Mobile 2003 or later. ActiveSync and Windows Mobile Device Center won’t work with Windows Embedded CE 4.2 or 5.0, Pocket PC 2002, or Smartphone 2002 devices. (To see which Windows Mobile operating system you’re using, and if your phone doesn’t have a touch screen, click Start > Settings > About. If your phone has a touch screen, click Start > Settings > System tab > About.) To sync content to any of these devices, you must use a USB or serial cable and your computer’s Internet connection and File Explorer.
  • You must use Microsoft Outlook 2002, Outlook 2003, or Office Outlook 2007 to sync your e-mail, contacts, tasks, and notes from your computer.
  • You must use a USB cable to connect your phone to your computer the first time you use Windows Mobile Device Center to sync.

HTC HD and MS Outlook Notes

Unfortunately, Notes are not available using Exchange ActiveSync, yet.

You have to tether your phone to a PC with Outlook and ActiveSync (XP) or Windows Mobile Device Center (Vista) installed.

Since mutiple ActiveSync partnerships are supported you can sync some things with Exchange and some with your PC.

If we are lucky Windows Mobile 7 and/or Exchange 2010 will make this possible.
