Headlights come on at times during the day and night while car is off and stay on
Remove the fuse labeled ECU-B from the fuse panel inside the vehicle. The instrument panel fuse block is located underneath the instrument panel on the driver's side of the car. This will disable to Daytime Running Lights. These have been known to come on at odd times during cold weather and thus drain the battery. Disconnect the battery and have it fully charged using a battery charger that you plug in to your homes electric supply, or replace the battery with a new one. This should keep the Daytime Runners from coming on and draining your battery when the car is not on. Once you have done this you can then take the vehicle to a service location and have the issue taken care of. This is only a band-aid so you can limp through until you can get it fixed. This is not a permenant solution.
My 2005 vibe headlamps would not come on on dims. The brights would come on. I changed the headlamps and everything is good.

I have the same problem when it's cold and just this weekend I put my switch on high beams and they went off......go figure...hoping I can make sure that is the real solution.
Headlights turn on when car sits outside over night and temperature drops near or below freezing, usually resulting in dead battery the next morning.
Any idea as to what is causing the problem?
