SOURCE: When you step on the scale the readout says

Yes it means battery needs replacing. Check oringinal papers that came with scale to see if you need to order special battery. Otherwise go to a battery store that recharges batterys. They usually carry most makes. Take your battery with you so you can match right one.

I don't have a manual. The readout is in kilos rather than pounds some of the time. How can I get it to read in pounds all the time? Also I replaced the batteries. Are they supose to be both with + up? I have a replacement heart valve so I don't want to know body fat. How do I make sure it is off?

I have a Taylor Led scale #9876B ...I purchased maybe 2 mo ago , This is my 2nd one . The first one stopped reading my weight , and will say err. so I took it back , got a new one same kind , now this one...

I have the 9876 also. After 2-3 yrs it quit. W/ new battery it does the walking o's, then ERR1. I opened it and found that it uses a strain gauge, read by an MCU. The wires leading to the strain gauge were crushed between the top of the gauge and the plastic top cover. If I wiggle the wires I get a reading , but inaccurate. Then when they lose connection, there's no reading. Considering the slop in the metal links to the strain gauge, I don't consider it repairable.

My scale keeps giving me an err2 message. How do

1. Take out the battery
2. Put scale on hard surface
3. Stand on scale for five seconds
4. Put battery back in
5. Tap your foot on scale to make 00000 appear
6. When the 00000 disappear tap your foot on scale again and then stand on scale till your weight appears

If this does not work the first time (it has always worked the first time with my scale) the repeat the steps a second time. If the second time does not work call the company because something else is wrong.

Error message

Try this, I have the same problem and I just got off the phone with Taylor, this is what they told me to do and my scale is now working again.
1. take the battery out.
2. put the scale on a flat, hard surface
3. stand on the scale for 10 seconds
4. put the battery back in, be careful not to touch any buttons or turn the scale on
5. put the scale back on the flat, hard surface
6. put one foot on the scale and apply pressure until the display comes on
7. take your foot off of the scale
8. wait for the the display to go blank
9. now stand on the scale to weigh yourself.

This worked for me. Hope that it works for all of you.
