Hi working from memory your machine ha a pitch switch 10.12.15 and PS move this and try.

I'm a bit confused on this one. I have a XL 1000 and it has no display. How can it "say" it's locked? Some of the Smith Coronas have a printhead lock to keep it from being damaged in transport, but not this model. Need more info.
