OSD menu on my Acer AL1715 suddenly pop up without any reason. Then it disappear after a few sec .. thats very annoying actually. It happens quite often recently, maybe 3 times in one hour .. Anyone has faced to similar problem ? Thanks for advices ..
I had a simalar problem with my Dell 2001FP. The issue is that there is false triggering of the switch; you need to open the front panel, and remove the swictch from the circuit by: 1) analyze the circuitl; its usally pretty simple - a voltage drop circuit. 2) disable the switch by either removing it with a solder gun or, simply by using a sharp blade and cutting the PCB track leading it to it, as I did.(much easier - and reversible!) Fixed my problem.

Have found an Analog version of Acer AL1715 OSD version.. It only seems to appears when there is a fault..
How to activate .. When the annoying osd pop's up turn monitor off press and hold the button next to the Auto button; while holding button press the on button.the lcd light should flash amber then green. wait till monitor displays normal then press the menu button.
The Analog osd version should be displayed. What to do after this ?
Don't Know!!!!!!

Try clearing windows\prefetch folder..
these files are not important they will be recreated again and again .. with that in mind keep an eye on the folder note new entries

Acer OSD problem solved .. for me anyway
two trojan's
Win32.Trojan.Rbot
Win32.Polip.A
Antiviral software never picked them up but ZoneAlarm spyware scanner did .. Deep-inspection scan
I've done the driver thing it didn't work. so i had a look at the mouse properties / pointer options
only cause i noticed that if the mouse sat in a particular spot on my screen the annoying osd popup would appear. so i unclicked all the visibility tick boxes as of this post 3 days later (test) no annoying osd popups have appeared.
Hope you too have the same good luck.

Have you tried clearing windows\prefetch directory of all files ..
These files are not important ... cached so will be recreated again and again
