What you can do is try changing the router's channel. Follow the steps below:

1. Open Internet Explorer and type 192.168.1.1
2. It will ask for username and password. No username and password is admin
3. Click on Wireless tab. Select Standard for Radio Band and select Channel 11 for Standard Channel. Click on Save settings.
4. Check the signal distance now

You have a few options. If you already have a router, set this one up as an Wireless Access point. It pulls signals from the main router and you can connect to this one. BUT your signal could be weak depending on the distance, walls etc. If you can make a cable run, use it as a switch. (Extend your ports, and as a wireless point. Go to Cisco Linksys and download the manual. It is not difficult. Use the main router as a your DHCP and this one as a wireless point. You will need to set up the SSID and security (Securty is optional, but I would do it). Give it a SSID different then your main one and you can setup your device to connect to the one with the strongest signal (Most do this by default.

My Belkin N-1 is very weak. Can't get a signal from one room to the next. Is there a fix or does it need repair?

Try changing the channels on your router... Also, if you have a wireless phone near it make sure that they are using different channels or better to move it away from your router... very thick walls also weakens the signal... try placing it first near your laptop just to check that you can connect wirelessly before you move it away... you might just need an range expander or repeater to boost up the signal

Not receiving n-type signal from router

Put the laptop next to the router and see what signal you then get. do the following
---- start>control panel>system and maintenance>system>device manager on lefthandside> network adapters click on the +sign>right click on the wifi adapter>properties>now in there there maybe a TAB for advanced which allows you to select the type of signal the adapter is set for - check its not set to G. ----- loss of signal in room, wifi signals can be reduced, if they pass through walls etc - sometimes just a small change in the routers position or aerial alignment can make a big difference ------ download and install - http://www.xirrus.com/library/wifitools.php - you can then monitor on the graph the signal strength and see when it drops off -------- also a change in the wireless channel used on the router can helpp - Use channel 1 or 6 or 11 as they do not overlap - have a look at the other signals being broadcast and what channel they are on - then choose one that is free or also on a very weak signal to minimise interference

Toshiba satellite l505-s6906 will only connect to a linksys g router in the same room as soon as i leave the room it disconnects

Check to make sure the lead are firmly connected to the wireless card. If they are make sure that they are reversed. Also if you have a neighbor next door that has a computer with wireless, see if it picks up your router, that way we can determine if it is a network or computer issue.

I have a verizon westell 7500 gateway router. Will I be able to use a netgear WG111 2v wireless adapter to get a stronger signal from it for my laptop?

I'm not sure what you are trying to do. Is the signal too weak?
You could use the router to extend the range with the proper configuration. Either that, or purchase a wireless extender that does just that.
You won't get a stronger signal. A router does not boost a signal. It can pick up the signal and rebroadcast it using a different IP.
