Bobbin cover fall off continuously

Why does the bobbin cover fall off each time I either move the fabric or if the fabric is thick? It rides up and down. Should it be secured into the lot?

Yes, it should be secure, check to see if the bobbin is warped
try a different bobbin,
the bobbin cover may need to be replaced, & even the bobbin hook
& hook race may need to be checked to see if they are damaged

SOURCE: Needle & Bobbin out of sync

This description sounds like the machine is out of time. The needle should match up with a cut out section in the bottom of the bobbin area. If it is hitting, the timing has slipped, probably from sewing on a fabric that was too heavy for the machine.

SOURCE: Fabric doesn't Feed

It sounds like your feeddogs are still down in the embroidery mode. It should be a button on the right side of the machine. they have to be up for sewing and down for embroidery.

SOURCE: fabric pulls down into bobbin area

Increase your top tension, from 2 to 4, or from 5 to 6. Also check if there is no fluff or cotton in the top tension blades, preventing them from closing properly. Do this by lifting the presser foot and decrease the top tension to zero. This open the blades and allows you to inspect them. Good luck!

SOURCE: My machine had been working

Most machinary is built with some adjustment feature and I see that you have thoroughly checked for loose, missing or broken parts, so that leaves only the adjustment left.

Examine the mechanism to see how the feed dogs operate and try to find the adjustment.

It sounds as if the dogs have moved down and you need to release a clamping screw to raise it a little and re-tighten the screw.

While you are inside, check for any slop in the fittings before attempting any adjustment.

PC8500 tension issues w/ free motion quilting. Either tensions too weak/strong, or gathering up fabric. Moved cone feeder, re-threaded & reloaded bobbin over & over.

The PC8500 does not do free motion well because of its tension design, it is not you.It was one of he earlier machines to set tension by the thickness of the fabric. If you really want to do free motion then it is time for a different machine.

Im having trouble with the needlr threaf locking to the bobbin thread. just have 2 long threads after srwing. im sewing upholstrry lrather up to 4mm thick

Check whether it occurs only when sewing thick upholstery fabric or on any fabric. If it is only on the upholstery, then the fabric is most likely causing the needle to deflect so it is not intercepting the bobbin thread. Make sure to use a brand new sharp needle and one that is heavy enough to penetrate the fabric without bending. If it occurs on any fabric, then the machine is most likely out of time. Search for sewing machine timing or take it for service.

If you have an a self wind bobbin make sure the bobbin winder is all the way down and no thread caught under it, your machine should be able to cope with thick fabric, slacken the pressure on the presser foot

Annoying solution, but works every time. Remove the ENTIRE bobbin casing from the base and then turn the wheel. The needle should lift right out. Reassemble bobbin casing and oil very well.

This generally only happens when you are sewing through several layers of fabric or though a thick fabric. If you are doing neither, the timing in your machine may be off and you will need to get it repaired.

In addition to this the set up of thread to bobbins winder is also need in right place the thread should be in clockwise rotation when coming out to bobbins casing as shown in fig.76e4431.jpg as you can see when thread was pulled out from bobbins winder is moving counter clockwise. If you try to sew, try cotton fabric and set dial to # 3 to 4 and stitch set range to 8 up to 12 depend on layers and thickness,After setting try to sew manually ,turn hand wheel by your hand first, let upper tension catch the lower bobbins tension and arranged thread and insert fabric use hand turning hand wheel several time until stich appear on fabric observed loop thread on lower bobbins on fabric.if accumulation of loop thread on lower adjust upper tension also dial tension gradually until it has a smooth stich appear.
