I have a Canon Smartbase MP730. My son went to print a documant and got a message saying "printer not responding." He's only 11 bless him and all he did next was press the Green go button on the printer. Nothing else what-so-ever. I now have the alarm light flashing and an error message saying "Wrong cartridge." I have tried turning the printer off and unpluging it for a while to no avail. I have taken out and returned the ink tanks too this didn't help either. I would have looked in the user manual but for some strange reason it's no where to be found. Anyway I'm hoping you guys (and girls) can offer a solution. Thanks for looking anyway, Mad Anji.

Un install printer unplug printer dont just turn it off.
then install the drivers dont let windows do it use the cannon drivers. when prompted plug in printer and turn it on. after install ed. try mantaince settings and do nozzle check, see if all are printing right color. I ordede ink and they put wrong color in yellow tank messed me up. good luck
You need to replace the printhead (QY6-0064-000). It costs me around $50 in the U.S. But now, it works just fine. indogirl

Don't think it is a print head problem, have tried resetting several times.
My wife replaced one of the cartridges, magenta, and the printer now says "Wrong Print Cartridge" and it will not work.

I have the same problem. I thought it was because I was using old ink cartridges. So I went out and bought new expensive ink cartridges and installed them. Still got the same message. I did the unplug thing etc. I will try the print head solution now. I hope this works!
