Re: Resolution of Stiil Photographs.
The resolutiion dpi has little to do with the camera, its more about printing/displaying - that is just the screen display resolution. you can change that to 300 PPI (DPI) in most imaging applications.
the important thing is the pixels you have length and width
so 1000 pixels x 1000 pixels is the key to this
whats the max pixels of the camera - that would give you the resolution.
now to print an image onto paper the acceoted standard for top quality is 300 PPI
so 1000 pixels width divided by 300 pixels per inch ppi = 3.3 so you can print at 3.3 inches.
Now you may even be able to get away with as low as 180 PPI on some prints and depending on how far away it will be viewed - so this needs to be played with.
- can you reply here - with a comment and tell us
1) how many pixels you have
2) what image editing software you are using
3) how big you would like to print
- If you need clarification, ask it in the comment box above.

1. Download Video Download Studio, install it.
2. Go to the interface, you can download (Automatic capture) the YouTube video there directly. Tab Download to Convert, you can also click "Add" button to upload the videos from computer. You can also edit video by trim and crop functions.
3. After the video display on the Video Download Studio, click "Profile" and choose "General video", then select an MP4 format. Set destination file, clicking Convert button to complete the task.
Not only convert video to MP4, but also support batch conversion. Safe and easy to operate. No Viruses, No Spyware, No Adware. Do not hesitate. Have a try!
MisterSony is quite correct about the Capture card.
While most computers have the built-in ability to capture sound via the 'Line In' port, digitally recording the Video signal is a totally different aspect.
Certain TV Tuner cards also have Video Capture abilities (in addition to the tuner they have a VCR input). They often work in tandem with your Video Display card via the 'Feature' connector.
Both types allow the incoming signal to be displayed and recorded digitally at your choice of speeds, resolutions and formats. My preferences in the past have been the VideoBlaster line by Creative Labs. There are many others.
I'll do a little research as to what's currently out there and post my findings directly.
If I understand the user guide correctly, you can set the capture format in Preferences and have the captured video saved as MPEG1, there may be other options depending on what that version offers. If this is the only software you have to edit video, you must capture it first to have it saved to a folder of your choosing (usually set up in preferences). After that you should be able to use Windows Media Player or Quicktime to play back the file you captured. You can convert the MPEG1 files to another format if you want by using free software such as AVS Video Converter or other software.
I am assuming you meant your video (not just pictures) - you need a firewire cable - I have same camera - I use a firewire cable (4pins on each end) and connect to my IBM Laptop with Vista - vista does everything else to capture.
If you need to transfer photographs from the flash memory card -- I suggest the best way is to remove the flash memory card and use a USB flash card reader that you can hook up to your computer.
You may be able to do these otherways by installing the Sony software that comes with this camera - or can be downloaded from Sony website.
