There are some already dead/dying components and/or dry solder. I suggest it is better to refer it to a qualified service technician, since the back cover has to be opened for investigation/rectification.

Cannot load dvd
try to observe if the disc inside is spinning, if it doesn't there's a problem in your dvd player, and you should let it check for a technician.

Tries to start then Shuts down!
Insignia IS-LCDTV32 , Polaroid FLM2601 andFLM3201, Advent 203L32K50B Also Audiovox FPE 3205 LC32K5. Cure:Replace the three 680uf at 35 volt caps at the top left of the power supply board.

It works!! I replaced the caps--about a buck each. The bad caps were swollen, and soldering in new caps wasn't hard to do. THANKS!!!

AUDIOVOX TV MODEL FPE-3205
I have a 50"Audio Vox and the it will turn on for about 15min then shut down. The only way to get it back on is to unplug it from the wall for 3o sec. then it will turn back on. Almost sounds like power supply to me. If anyone can help let me know. Unit is only a month old and no one in are town works on them, Bought it over the Internet and never again for me. Company I bought it from won't do anything./

Picture is purple and go in and out
Check all your connections, and if your running a Sky/Freeview box, try plugging an aerial into the TV and see if its the plug in box. I had a similar problem and discovered that the Sky box had a fault.

Oh the beauty of copyright. It's only put there to bypass anyway. Manufacturers spend millions of dollars to safeguard their copyright and some snotty nosed schoolboy beats the complete system in an afternoon. A good session of Googling may find you the code or push button sequence you need to disable the zone lockouts. If that fails it doesn't hurt to ask the TV salesman where you bought the TV. BMW
