Sony DVD Player not working

The dvd player would not work by not ejecting the cd. The product is DVP-DR510H and will also turn the volume all the way down to minimum by itself. The dvd player buttons will not work on the actually dvd player except on the remote and the power button on dvd player.

The controller board is slowly dying. I think it might be time to buy a new DVD player.

SOURCE: SONY DVD RW AW-Q170A not working....

one reason may be that your writer may be old and the lense must have died.

another is that the lense require cleaning.

the last one is that you need to upgrade the drivers and firmware for your sony writer which you will get here.

If all the above things dont work, replace it.

SOURCE: cd drive not eject

if it is not hardware problem then follow these steps :-

First delete dvd device from the Device manager.
just type DEVMGMT.MSC in run command.
then delete DVD Device
after that restart the system.

if not solve then follow next step ;-

If the drives are still listed in the Device Manager, delete them then carefully follow this fix:

"Upper/Lower Filters:

a. Click on Start --> Run --> and type in 'regedit' followed by the enter key
b. Expand the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" key (looks like a folder) by double clicking it (or clicking the "+" next to it.)
c. Expand the "SYSTEM" Key
d. Expand the "CurrentControlSet" Key
e. Expand the "Control" Key
f. Expand the "Class" Key
g. Look for a key containing the following string of letter and numbers:
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
h. Highlight this key by left clicking once on it
i. On the right hand side you are looking for "UpperFilters" and "LowerFilters" under the "Name" column, once you find these delete them by right clicking on them and choosing "delete"
j. Exit the registry by clicking on the "X" in the top right hand corner of the screen

restart the system.

When I turn on my Sony DVP-SR200P DVD player and press the eject button it's turns the DVD player off.

turn on first the dvd player and wait to read a disc inside if no disc inside the tray it will say disc error. if the unit doesn't turn off, eject now the the cd tray. if get turn off, remove the cover then check for an stuck up gear or obstruction in the cd tray assembly. you can check also the power supply board which may have unusual parts like bulged or burnt component parts.

Tray locked on sony dvp-ns77h dvd player

If the Sony DVP-NS77H DVD player displays "TRAY LOCKED" and you can't eject a disc or open the tray, try the following - First turn the unit off. Then, while holding down the eject, play and stop buttons simultaneously (on the front of the DVD player), turn the unit on with the '/O button (also on the front of the player). This released the locked tray for me.

Cd/dvd player only able to play dvd's

Get a hold of your manufacturer and verify the warranty on your cd/dvd player. I do know that if the cd's are not finalized then cd/dvd players will not be able to read them. If under warranty your manufacturer can replace it or troubleshoot the problem with you over the phone.
