If there's no obvious removable cover over the bulb (most often on the rear or side) and the owner's manual doesn't address it, then disassembly will be required.

Always unplug a microwave before removing or installing any bulbs.

If it's an over the range type, remove the vent grille across the top and see if bulbs can be accessed there. There may be a panel on the bottom covering the light(s), instead.

If not, chances are you'll have to remove it from the wall, then remove the outer cover. If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

Once it's out of the wall, the outer cover (wrapper) will need to be removed, just as you'll need to do on a counter top model.

On a counter top model, be sure it's unplugged, but otherwise ignore the instructions above this paragraph.

The screws you need to remove should be pretty obvious, but a special driver (such as a T20H type or GTXH20-100) may be needed.

Be sure to put all the screws back in the right holes, since some may be special grounding screws.

Bulbs can be had in most grocery stores, hardware stores, home improvement centers, and big box or department stores.

Many models use halogen lamps. You must not touch the new one with your bare skin, as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

In the UK, LG customer support is here. You may find your owner's manual online here.

After 10 years of owning an MC-806BL microwave, the bulb blew in November 2013. The 25W bulb and T170 base is one complete assembly. I've documented how I replaced it on my blog, here: LG MC-806BL microwave bulb replacement

Please could you tell me how to change the light bulb on a tricity tmc209 model?

Reposting an old fixya post:

The bulbs are either 25Watt SES or special fitting. Replacement of the lamp should be carried out by a qualified appliance repair service.
YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT!
Attempt this only if you are competent.
But here is a basic method if you are mechanically minded and have electrical safety knowledge.
The lamp is sat in a housing and its position is adjacent to the vent holes that it shines through.
If you feel confident, disconnect it from the mains power, remove anything in the cavity.
Remove the microwave cover. Purchasing a new replacement lamp will be useful as it will give you an idea of what it looks like. Locate the dead lamp remove the lamp and fit the new one. Replace the covers. Plug it back in and try the lamp by opening the door.
Hope this helps.

Change the bulb

Remove the top cover by removing the side screws of the top cover. The chamber lamp is mounted within the slit of the top and will be visible. You can remove the covers to get to the lamp. replace with the same type and thread. if the lamp has not blown it can be due to faulty switch or relay.Trace the lamp circuit to confirm the fault

Kitchen aid Superba Microwave/convection built in above over. Need to change light bulb. what do I have to remove to pull micro out to change light bulb. model KAW38AVM726

Usually removing the appliance from the mains supply and taking the case off will reveal where the lamp is and depending whether it is an ES or Lucar fitting will depend on how tp remove it.
It is quite straight forward.
Replace the lamp with an identical lamp.
Hope that helps.
