I have the same problem as another person who wrote. It makes all the power up sounds, and the standby light blinks 7 times.I took the HOT out & tested the damper diode, I also tested it with a transistor tester & its good. I put it back in circuit, hooked it back up & it came on & worked fine. But when I turned it off & unpluged it,its doing the same thing again. Please tell me what else I could try.Thank you so much.

Every set has a standby power supply that runs 7/24 when set is plugged in---it means in this case a main power board or something associated with that is not working, Set is not making it from just standby to full on.
Blinking of standby light are fault indications. To get more details about this fault, vist this site. Type in the site name, either to Google or Yahoo search box and click search. The site is powered by Google. site name is "Electro-help" Click open the same named site with a hyphen in between words. It is an electronic repair help site.
If the standby light is on and it does not respond, it is most likely to be a problem with the power supply . First try this, unplug and leave the set like that for a few hours. Then plug it back in to see if the tv attempts to turn on when you try to power it up. See if you hear a "click" even if it goes back to standby. Let me know what you found so that I can help you test the power supply board to confirm, if necessary.
The clicking sound is from the main power supply relay being turning on and off, it is driven by hte main board and it gets the power from the standby power supply board.
You need to check the main powwer supply board and the standby power supply board voltages.
Check the resistor in the main power supply board also

I fear that there's no easy fix. Sounds like the power supply or the board which controls it is bad. If you're not an electronics repair person, it'll need to go to a repair shop.
