Model#139.53675SRT2 works fine in warm weather but not in cold

When it gets cold no matter what remote you use the door will go up 1/4 of way , then you push remote again to go down then again to go up several times before it will go all the way open.. it might take 5-8 times before opens all the way.....the opener works great in warm weather???? Never a problem with closing garage door always problem when trying to open in cold weather only???

I have a Genie garage door opener. ONLY DURING COLD WEATHER does it act up. When I close the garage door it goes to the completely closed position and retracts. I have adjusted the limit switch and it does...

It is probably the lubrication in the rollers. You should lubricate them and make a small adjustment to the torque sensor. When it gets cold the lub gets stiff. The torque sensor will detect this and open the door, a safe position.

Our Craftsman model 139.5364 works fine when it is warm, but not when it is cold. Even right after a brand new warm battery is installed. How can we get it to work when cold ?

Some electronic components become sensitive to temperature and the only fix is to isolate the component and replacing it. In the case of door opener remotes it is cost effective to replace them.

Garage door won't close by remote in cold weather

There are ususally two adjustments on garage door openers...
One is for the pressure and the other is for the travel. Assuming that the travel adjustment is properly adjusted...

On a cold day things are a little tighter and it "wants" a little more downwards pressure to complete its cycle. Sorta like me in the morning -- I need a little coffee to get going on a cold morning.

Adjust the down pressure/force just enough to make the unit close properly. Do not over adjust the down pressure or you will find it won't stay closed. Sometimes the manufacturer doesn't make it too clear where this adjustment is, but you should be able to find it if you look around.

I have seen units that were installed for years all of a sudden need a little tweak of this adjustment.

Good luck

Garage door opener

Check the electric eyes. If they don't see each other the door thinks there's something in the way. Blinking light is a safety alert to check the travel path.

Garage door opener

You can turn up the up and down force on the motor head to give the unit more power. During colder weather the unit needs more power. Afterward do a 2x4 safety reversal test. thanks, BB
