Question about Admiral 26 cu. ft. Side-By-Side Refrigerator
I put a meter to the ice maker and got a 118.5 reading so it is good. I did not get the spitting you were talking about. The plastic screw broke when I turned it counter-clockwise. When I turned it clockwise it just raised the lever that tells you when the tray is full (it was already set as far clockwise as it would go). When I turned it counter-clockwise it turned a little and then the two plastic prongs broke off. I can't believe that is what they are made of. I was gentle with it and they still broke. No wonder everybody is sick of American products. Luckily I saved my old ice maker and swithced out the face plate (for lack of a better term). The water lines are clear. If I take the line off the back of the freezer, water will shoot out but it does seem like my problem is getting enough water and I am out of ideas. Thanks for your help. I'll take any other suggestions you might have.

Bruce I can see why you are perplexed, seems you covered all the basis. By your post, it sounds like you are loosing pressure somewhere. Take the cover off the ice maker module. You will see test points L

Test points L&V, will send 120 volts to the valve. See if you are spitting any air while testing the fill. On the right side of the module there is a small plastic adjusting screw. Clockwise will decrease the fill, counter clockwise will increase the fill. Try this first and post back...Catriver
Look for any pinched lines in back and obstructions in the fill tube itself.
Bruce, In the picture I sent you do you see the small plastic adjuster on the right hand side edge? right in the middle on the edge. This is the water adjustment screw. By your second post it sounds like you were turning the shut off lever. What I wanted you to do is take a jumper wire and jump L & V. Just like in the picture. I was not concerned about the proper voltage. This would send 120V directly to the water valve and water should be comming out of that fill spout as long as you are jumping L&V. This was to insure that there was no air in the lines. The minimun pressure to that fill valve should be 30 psi. in order for that valve to open and seat properly. You might have to put together a guage and check it. Catriver..post back.
