Hi, everyone. My name is Keith, a Japanese. Please tell me how to setup wireless system using DCM 425. Yesterday, when I went on business trip, Time Warner (TW) set up my internet, however there is no operating manual (is this word correct?), so I do not know how to use wireless system. When I applied for TW, I requested wireless. Can I use wireless, using DCM 425? If no, please tell me how to use wireless or what devices should I buy. My request is using wireless for cell phone or mobile PC and non-wireless for desk top PC. Desk top PC will arrival next month from Japan. I have been waited for long time by TW for some troubles, so I would like to setup as soon as possible. Thank you for your cooperation. Regards, Keith
Aieu us Go here and download the manual for your modem
SOURCE: DCM 425 Modem
check your wap, or wep keys. these can be checked on your wireless connection options or the wireless utily setup
SOURCE: No connectivity from 1 laptop but connectivity with another`
Try resetting the modem whenever you change between those PC's some NIC's will hang a cable modem stuck on an address.
SOURCE: Is my modem a WiFi router?
This RCA DCM 425 is a cable modem only its not even a router, its just a plain cable modem that is being provided by some cable company like Cox and Comcast, try searching again for a different box there they have a brnad name of Linksys, Netgear or Dlink because those are the common manufacturer of wireless router ...
Hope that helps............

below 55dBmv TX is a lot better. Could be a bad service line. Also if you call the cable company and have them come out again. Have them put their DSAM meters on the house lines as well as the service tap and have them check for upstream ingress. a lot of things can cause this. It could be a loose fitting somewhere in the house. A t.v.'s shielding may be going out causing unwanted frequencies bleeding in and creating all kinds of noise on the upstream spectrum going back to the node. It could even be a neighbor causing this with their own equipment. If that's the case their maintenance techs should be able to find that.
