Is it archos 5 or archos 5 IT ?
For archos 5 IT is already upgrade to 2.2 as far as I know.
For archos 5 I don't think there is one and with archos they don't bother doing anymore upgrades for older models.

Found this for the archos 5 IT.

How to install adobe flashplayer?

Hi there,

You will need to update your firmware to run the Android 2.2 operating system. This can be done by downloading the firmware from here:

http://www.archos.com/support/support_tech/updates_fwm.html?country=us&lang=en

Choose the 101 from the dropdown list and then download the firmware. There are instructions on that site that teaches you how to do this firmware update.

If you have any other questions or comments feel free to leave a comment on this post. Good luck!

Hello, Arghumro -

To get Adobe Flashplayer (free), go to the Adobe home page:
http://www.adobe.com

Scroll down that page to the bottom. You should see the link to Adobe Flashplayer

Choose that, download it, and save it (temporarily) to your Downloads folder. Note: When you see a pop-up window with choices for your Adobe Flashplayer updates, choose the middle one - check for updates but you download and install them.

Once Flashplayer is downloaded. Check your Computer (Operating System) C drive. Open it and make sure you have a folder named Program Files or something like that. In the Program Files (open it), make sure you have a folder for Adobe [programs.] Open the Adobe [programs] folder and make sure you have a folder for Flashplayer.

Then, go to the Downloads folder and look for the Flashplayer download icon. Highlight that icon with a click or tap and choose to Cut it. Then move to your C drive, Computer, open it, open Program Files, open Adobe, open Flashplayer, and past the Flashplayer download there. You may see a window asking for approval to replace the old Flashplayer file with a new one. Yes - choose the replacement action.

Then, double click or tap on the new Flashplayer option so that the software update can be installed. This may seem like "forever," but it will probably be only a few minutes. A window will pop up displaying the installation process.

If all this seems confusing to you, you probably have a relative, neighbor, or good friend who is familiar with it all. Ask that person for one-on-one, in person direction.

Best wishes.

Hi,my archos5 start up repeatedly, how can i do?

Hi,
You might want to try hitting the reset button when it comes on. the reset button is on the bottom next to the connectors you will need a paper clip. I hate to say it but you probably have to do a hard reset. Have you downloaded the latest firmware make sure you have either a copy of your original firmware or if you don't know which is your original firmware download the latest & save it to your desktop. When the archos screen comes on hold the volume button until the white screen with repair, recovery or format comes on first try repair or recovery your last choice is to format. Usually a hard format fix's most problems. I hope I have been helpful.

Adobe flash player

Try disable your antivirus first and firewall like Norton or McAffe. They seem to block this kind of application. Download another version of flash player and reinstall it. If you can use a different browser like Mozilla Firefox, try it as well.

Hi there, what seems to be the issue with the downlad, is it the installation of the player? Have you tried going to Adobe's website and downloading it from there?
