You must check for blown fuse at the power supply board, bur before you replaced with new one you must check the FET transistor and bridge type diode if shorted which cause of blown fuse.

I think you have dry solder joints on the tv. Either on the chroma board, the vertical scan board, the line output board, or on the focus board. If you are going to do this yourself please take all necessary precautions against electric shock and discharge all capacitors that you can as a stray spark from one can cause damage to your tv and yourself. If you are not able to do this find a competant technician. Good luck.

SOURCE: Hitachi Plasma not getting power

I have the same tv with the same problem. I plug it in and press the main power button on the bottom and the orange standby light comes on. Then i have to press & hold the power button on the side for 5 seconds and let go and press once for the blue power light to come on. I still get no picture. I've pressed the menu & input buttons on the side to see if those would open but nothing happens.

Any ideas on that?

thanks in advance

SOURCE: My 42 inch hitachi plasma

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors on the PSB. Many major electronics companies Philips/Magnavox, Sony, Panasonic, and others were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional $$$$$$$??????? (Is it under warranty?)

2. Open your TV and find PSB. (The board that the power cord plugs into) Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board. The entire board costs around $250 right now because they are in high demand right now. They can be found at tv-part.com but supplies are limited. I would definitely shop around though.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

This may be your problem. If you determine that it might be.

I have a Tip/How TO tutorial on this site that may also help. It gives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. Here is the Link: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem. I'm working on uploading pictures to help guide people though the process as well. Let me know if I can do anything to help.

Hope this helps and if it does please rate it accordingly. Good luck.

Will not turn on, no blinking lights, power coming from cord is good

Sounds like the power supply board is dead. Probably has a blown power line fuse on the board. A power surge will sometimes blow the fuse and protect the board from damage. Replacing the fuse will restore the TV if this is the case. Most times though, the supply has a blown part that causes the fuse to blow and your only option then is to replace the board.

Spectroniq tv doesn't turn on, lights off.

The fuse is inside--power cord should go almost direct to it--beyond that if fuse good is power supply for the set.

My TV won't turn on. It was fine this afternoon and when I tried to put in on tonight, nothing.

The key here is does the red power light come on? If not follow power cord inside to the fuse that is directly in line with the cord.

If other let me know.

HAS NO POWER AT ALL

If your television is totaly no power, first step to do is to check the power outlet if there's a power output. Then check the power cord,if good, the problem is inside the television.Maybe the fuse is busted. So remove the back cover of the television and find or look the power supply. The fuse is located at the power supply.Replace same amphere of fuse if busted or open.Try to power on if you already replace fuse.Thanks...

TV won't turn back on after power cord was disconnected from unit

If power cord was jerked out of the outlet or set, make sure it wasn't damaged. If it was unplugged violently, the circuit board inside the set could be damaged. Also make sure the outlet that it is plugged into is not damaged or a switched outlet.

Hitachi 60ux58b projection tv

If there is no power indicator, you could have gotten lucky and only the main fuse insiude the set blew. You can unplug the TV set, take off the back of the TV. Then where the line cord comes out of the TV set and plugs into the wall, look where the line cord enters the set and look for a glass type cylinder fuse. If it is black, most likely there is a short inside the TV set. If it is not black, try replacing the fuse with ONLY the type that is stamped on the side of the fuse. If the set still does not work, or if the fuse blows again, you will need to have the set serviced by a pro. Good Luck
