Question about Bosch WFMC 3200 Front Load Washer
There is a mold growth problem within the hoses and antisyphon device of this machine as well as in the gasket around the door. You can clean the hoses by taking off the back of the machine (unplug first!), then disconnect the hoses from the back of the drain pump. Remove the hoses from inside the machine and then soak then in a sink. You will most probably find that the antisyphon valve is covered in mold. Take apart the antisyphon valve by turning the pieces. BE CAREFUL as there is a small ball inside the valve. Soak this piece in bleach. While this is not a permanent solution, it does give a bit of relief.

Are you using liquid detergent? if so, don't. liquid detergent has the side effect of leaving a nasy smelling slime inside the machine and think this is what you are seeing on the drain hose. if i'm right, put appliance oin boil wash when empty and use powder detergent

After a dishwasher is installed the hose rarely comes to mind - unless a problem occurs and a repair person comes out to inspect the job. If the hose was installed improperly, or if it is lying in a position that does not let it drain, stagnant water will create a bad smell. Examine the hose that is probably inside the kitchen cabinet beneath the sink. If the hose is lying in the bottom of the cabinet, it is probably full of water. A film begins to form inside the hose and the odor begins to grow. The next time the dishwasher is used, the stagnant water ends up on dishes, and in the meantime it can cause a bad smell inside of the dishwasher. Hang the hose at an angle on supports in the back of the cabinet. This alone might get rid of the bad smell inside the dishwasher.
Check the Seal
A dirty dishwasher seal can be a source of a bad smell. Before deciding the dishwasher needs to be replaced, check the seal - especially at the bottom. Old food and grime builds up in these areas and can cause a particularly bad smell. Clean it with a solution of diluted bleach and hot soapy water. One teaspoon of bleach for each quart of water is sufficient to kill germs and the odors they create.
NB I decided to add a little bit of vinegar to the machine after I unloaded it. Sure it would smell pretty strong for a while but then the smell would dissipate. Voila! For two weeks now my dishes have not smelled whatsoever.
