This is usually caused by one button being stuck down, and the volume control buttons on the left of the main display, and the voice button on the right of the main display are the usual culprits. Try squeezing them and making sure they move normally. Then power down the phone, pop out the battery, and give it another shot.
Press all of the buttons and keys on the phone one by one with it powered off and the battery out. Make sure they all feel normal to the touch and when pressed. Check the buttons on either side of the main display carefully, as these tend to get stuck more than others.
