Question about Toshiba SD R2312 CD-RW/DVD-ROM (Combo) Burner

Toshiba SD R2312

Does this combo drive have dvd burning capabilities i tried using a Dvd-R disc and it wont even read it i had gotten a the disc is not properly formatted sign once but after that it wont even read the disc any help would be much appreciated

If you have indicated the correct model, then it is only capable of burning cd's, but reading cd's and dvd's

I have a toshiba laptop my cd dvd burner gets this message when i try to burn error 380381-26-2a031000

Hello Gary, hi, that error means failure of the burner software ROM (corrupted), you have to return the laptop back to the manufacturer for reprogramming, you can also get a surplus DVD drive. Or buy a USB external DVD drive, this is a better alternative.

My toshiba u 400 12p's cd rom working but not burning. burning time comes error code 380381 26 2A031000, what can i do?

Looks like this is a pure hardware error and the Rom needs a service. Still you may try to reinstall the driver and the burning software. This could give results if you are lucky enough not to have a hardware issue.

If your current device is CD-RW/DVD-ROM, then any CD-RW/DVD-RW device that you can purchase will _physically_ replace and will fit into the space occupied by your current device.

Says there is no cd burning device, does not recgonize cd burner/dvd player

can you try the drive any where else.If not go under device manager and uninstall the drive,reboot see if it will tell you new device found.

WHen I try to burn a cd it says connect a burner

hi,
check whether your burner is properly connected or not.
if it is properly connect then the software your are using for cd writing is not compitable with your burner.

I have the same problem like you.one of the expert shared to me that my burner has faulted. I thing your problem is worse than mine cause I can still read cd rom vcd/ DVD files and movies. Just finfd new one that will give you quality output.

Your CD "Burn" laser or "Quadrant Detector" has "Faulted" a very common occurrence for these "Combo" drives,...So..I'm sorry but ya gonna haveta get another... as these ya can't fix. :(
