Question about Maytag Neptune Washer

Maytag Neptune Max Extract Quit Working

Maytag Neptune MAH3000AWW - new fall of 1998. Max Extract feature is no longer working. I've removed the front - belt is fine - everything looks normal. With the door off, holding the door switch, and running the "spin" cycle (either one) - the drum rotates stops reverses direction, pauses for about a minute and then repeats. This action is the same either with or without the 'Max Extract' button depressed. Water pump is running - eveything else seems normal. Is there a suspect position on the control board? - are there wires below that would allow me to test whther the switch is making the circuit it should? Any advice would be helpful.

washer runs normal until it gets to spin cycle. pump runs and no spin. took back off and looked at very clean inside. no connections loose that I can see. it did have a loud spin cycle before as in a off ballenced drum. can not remember if normal or not. lost manual for it.

More information about the problem is needed...there are two levels of spinning..."regular" and "Max Extract" The Max setting spins the tub much faster. If you are having trouble with really wet clothes being left in the washer...haven't really been spun at all...this might have a couple of solutions. First, check the "out of balance" switch (a little plastic square with two green wires attached) located at the base of the tub on the front on my stacked unit. Because of the vibration in the tub, the wires on mine have broken twice.right at the switch. The other possibility is the main circuit board. Check out the internet for solutions/replacements.
My washer's Max setting is not working...and I don't know the reason for this...any help? Thanks...
