This will work with these printers: Toshiba e-STUDIO520/600/720/850 and e-STUDIO523/603/723/853 series MFP's
- Press "USER FUNCTIONS"
-Then click "USER"
-Now click "TONER NEAR EMPTY DETECTION"
-At this point a screen will open up asking you if you want to clear the TONER LOW message, click YES
Please note that "TONER LOW" message is different than the "ADD TONER" message, that means the cartridge is completely empty and you must replace the cartridge!
Leave the machine working to see the next message of Adding Toner. Usually the next message of "Adding Toner" is "Ready to Copy".
If the next message is "Add Toner", i suggest you to pull the new toner kit out and push it a little bit harder and check again.
If you power the machine off and on again, can you see what the message about toner is, Original or Unknown Toner is installed?
Check your old toner bottle and make sure the plastic "cap" is still in the bottle. These machines have an occaisional problem with the caps coming off (not the black screw off cap but the semi clear cap under the black screw off cap) and staying inside the black plastic "cup" that you insert the toner into. If the cap is missing it may be stuck inside this cup. If the cap is still in your old cartridge then try opening/closing the front door and letting the machine cycle to see if the toner light goes out. May have to do this several times. Had one customer just yesrday have to do this to clear the toner light after adding toner.
Toner bottle rotation failure. This is usually caused by the toner bottle/cartridge not being installed correctly. Did you just recently install a new one?
Best solution is to try and remove the cartridge. Then leave it out, and close the machine back up and let it run. Only re-install the toner cartridge after the machine has completely stopped.
The machine rotates this cartridge when adding toner. So what happens is the add toner light comes on and if you open the machine to add toner while it is running the bottle stops turning and is thus out of it's home position.
