80GB video ipod is not turning on.instead the apple symbol blinks

My 80GB video iPOD is not turning on, instead the white apple symbol shows up and in 3 seconds the screan becomes blank again. While I charge the ipod, it’s acting in the same way....
Also the ipod is not detected in my PC.

Well, I tried this already..but no difference.. the same old stuff happening " just flashing the apple logo and going back off " .

when i run a Diagnostics, the test got stucked in this step

    Please plug FW
    LCD ID: 1
    FWPWR: 0

And that's all. the test never seems to finish. I have to reset to get out of it.

I have the same problem. The 80G classic is locked in a cycle of
    apple logo
    shuts down for 5secs
    logo reappears

when attached to speakers there is what sounds like a hard drive attempting to start and failing.

Connect the ipod to your computer and let it sit for about fifteen minutes. Then it should show up in your computer and under itunes. Usually, if your ipod dies completely, when you try to charge it using a wall or car charger, it will do that, just flashing the apple logo and going back off. Leaving it plugged up to the computer will allow the battery to charge just enough so that it can sync with itunes. While it is plugged into the computer and charging, it should say something like, battery very low, charging. It should work after letting it sit plugged up to the computer.

My ipod is all white when i turn it on

Turn iPod touch off and turn it on again.

If the iPod will not turn off, try to reset it. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until either the Apple logo or battery symbol appears. If the battery symbol appears, continue to charge iPod touch until it is fully charged.

If this doesn't work, try restoring the iPod

I have an ipod 80GB with video out to the TV My 60GB willplay my pictures as a slide show on the TV, but the 80GB will not. Any Suggestions

You probably need different cables for the different ipod. Go to www.apple.com and click on the support tab; after it loads put the article HT1453 into the search. It will pull up the apple article on this exact kind of issue. It has pictures to show the different kinds of cables needed for the TV OUT feature on ipods. I found it very helpful, hope you do as well. Cheers :)

I think my ipod 80gb is fried can anyone conform.PLZ PLZ HELP

im afraid this means your ipod hard drive is scdrewed, but no need to worry as it is not extremely expensive. a new hard drive is available from the apple store and easy enough to put in yourself, so relatively inexpensive at about $20-$60 (aud)
