My Refrigerator is not venting from the top. If I stand infront of the Refrigerator on the freezer side feel as if the coldness is coming from the bottom. I open it and notice that there was ice on the cooler(I think that is the name). As such I let it sit for about 2 hours and then plug it back on.At this point everything seems to be working fine. Once I repack my Refrigerator and turn it on ther was no air coming from the top vent. I then lower the temp on the Freezer and not that cold air is coming from the vent. This morning the vent is not working. please advice. help Help. My Refrigerator is 6 years old
You have your own answer there - You have overfrosting and icing up behind the freezer, this will affect proper cooling - also if you have seperate freezer and refrigerator controls, it's possible the damper is not opening properly to let the cool air in. But in your case it sounds like a defrost problem. You will need to have a service person inspect your control board and defrost timer components - sometimes it's as simple as a board replacement due to a burnt resistor these things are the most common causes.

This is what has happened. Due to the door being opened for so long moisture which is naturally in the air has collected on your freezer coils. What you need to do is turn the whole thing off for at least 24 hours. Open the doors and put some towels around it to let the frost melt out.
All the air that gets cooled in your unit gets cooled by a fan that pulls air through those coils. Once the frost has melted out of them it should cool just fine.
