IBM 300PL Model: 6862-V20 Booting Sequence cleared problem

Dear Sir/ Madam,
I have IBM 300PL P-III PC Model: 6862-V20
It was connected to External TV Device. Thereafter some problem arose like The RF-ID tag has changed, System Security-Keyboard is locked, Keyboard unlocked and then it started ON.
I removed the External TV device but the problem persisted.
Now the description arises:
The RF-ID Tag has changed
184 Asset Control Antenna not detected
System security-Keyboard is locked
System Security-Keyboard is unlocked
176 the system has been tapmered with
Administrator password & Booting Sequence has been cleared
Turn power to your system off and then on.
Your system is now locked.

I have cleared CMOS, Changed settings, Re-entered booting sequence,
Re-booted through Bootable Windows XP CD but all failed.
Same message appears. Often it does not show highlighted option for the change of booting sequence.
Need solution & obliged.

Are there any lazer printers avialable for a PC 300PL IBM with only 84 MB RAM? At one time I had an HP.

For an old PC like that, youd need a Serial port. For a Laser printer, this is odd. However, there are adapters you can use! Ask your local BestBuy or Staples store for a laser printer and a serial adapter for it.

Hope this helps!

Yes, the is a built in sound card on the IBM 300PL. It emulates a "sound blaster pro" card. To download the driver, click this link:

I have IBM 300pl. And it has strange fan problem.

A fan that no longer works will cause a heat problem. While it may not cause a complete failure, it can cause some strange things to start happening. Your best best is to shut the PC down and remove the cover. Restart the PC an determine which fan(s) has stopped working.

At this point, you can either 1) contact IBM for a replacement fan or 2) remove the fan yourself and google the name and model number of the fan to find a direct replacement and either order online or 3) visit a local PC repair shop to buy a replacement fan that matches the defective one.

Buying direct from IBM will probably cost the most, but will be the exact type needed for your PC. Buying locally will probably be cheaper and faster, but may not be an exact replacement unless it is the same model, etc.

When calling IBM you'll need the computer model, serial number and any other identifying numbers on it for them to help you out.

CMOS BATTERY

It really depends on the Driver model.

On the latest models capicitors of BIOS can hold the charge for longer and you can easily change the battery with the new one.

If you have the old board just go ahead and change the battery as usual and dont worry for the settings at all.

You can load the safest default settings by pressings F1,F9,F10
