Question about Zanussi F1245W Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Zanussi 1245w fails to spin

Hello My 1245W is doing it all right, except when the spin cycle at the end of the washing cycle is selected. To put it simply, it is draining but not spinning leaving all the load soaking wet. Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply - it is rotating on wash and managing a slower speed spin when on drain mode, but still no high speed spin.

cant give you a definitive answer but could be:

    1) there is an out of balance detector which prevents spin if load will not balance. however this would obviously not operate every time only when unbalanced load.

    2) points to a defective motor control pcb. sometimes it is worth visual examination to see if any dry joints. less likely is a defective motor

i assume it is draining completely - no drain, no spin

I have a maytag frontload washer 2000 series that will not start spin cycle won't even try unless the washer is empty. no error codes showing, even after I do diagnostics. help...wife is miffed..

After determining that the washer is plugged in, the drain hose is free from kinks, the "No spin" option is not selected and the washer door is securely closed, the cycle should be reselected to see if the washer will spin. If this does not solve the problem, it is advised to contact a trusted repair service. Problems with the lid switch assembly, drive belt, drive pulley, drive motor, tub bearing or transmission can also cause a Maytag washer not to spin. These repairs should be carried out by a professional.
If the washer is spinning but clothes are still wet at the end of the cycle, one should ensure that the washer is not overloaded or unbalanced and that the correct wash cycle is selected. Delicate or handwash cycles spin at a lower speed, resulting in wetter clothes

Oko 72630. Why is it stuck on rinse cycle?

Could be several reasons:
- Selected the "Night cycle" program (means standing with the drum full of water, reason: too much noise in the spin cycle)
- Set to the "Rinse hold" (means standing with the drum full of water, reason: wrinkles on the clothes)

According to your description I think that this is not a failure otherwise error E20 will be appears on display.

Once the washing programme has come to an end, END illuminates on the programme progress display.
If RINSE HOLD was selected, the display beside the START/ PAUSE button flashes.
1. After a rinse hold, the water must first be pumped out:
- Either press the START/PAUSE button (the water is pumped out and the washing is spun according to the completed programme;
After the START/PAUSE button is pressed again, the spin speed can still also be changed during spinning), or
- Turn the programme selector to PUMP OUT and press the START/PAUSE button (the water is pumped out without spinning),or
- Turn the programme selector to SPIN or SHORT SPIN and press theSTART/PAUSE button (the water is pumped out and the washing is spun or gently spun).
At the end of this programme step, the END indicator will illuminate.
2. Open the door.
As soon as the DOOR indicator lights up green, the door can be opened.

Simpson swf85561 wont drain, spin or wash goes to end cycle

It sounds like your outlet is clogged. Unplug the Washer first. You need to take off the back, there is a plastic piece attached to the hose where the water comes out. It may look like an enclosed bowl. Items that get sucked in, socks, scarves, etc... tend to get caught into this. If it is supposed to be clear, but it isn't, then there is something stuck in there. You must pull it apart and remove the laundered item.

A way to avoid this happening in the future, if this is the cause, is to put small washable items in the center of the load. Do not overload the washer.

Thank you for contacting Fixya. Does this help? Let us know.

I have an asko w600 front load washer, seems to wash ok, but will not go into spin cycle, drain pump operates - slowly, but does not start spin cycle. saw somewhere on net that pump may be faulty

Hello Greg, welcome to FixYa.
To address your post of the washer not spinning and your curiosity of a faulty pump...the pump may simply be obstructed preventing a proper drain, thus a compromised spin, they are directly related. These frontloaders will not spin until they drain sufficiently. (though a faulty drain pump is possible, it woud be the exception, not the rule).
There is typically a drain filter in the pump as you may or may not know, based on your description it may be clogged. You'll need to access it, clean it out via draining it through the pump "emergency drain hose" before you can in the end open the door (though usually once drained to a safe level it will open under normal procedures) however there should be a door lock release on Asko built machines...including the W600 series.
This is the procedure for machines of the past 10yrs. or so...(this is only an example, it may not be exact but essentially the same as yours)

Hopefully this will help. Let me know if anything is unclear or If I can assist you going forward. Thank you for choosing FixYa and good luck going forward.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)

Hello I have a Maytag Washer Model A512 The machine goes through a regular cycle OK - However, it DOES drains the water out during the rinse cycle, but does NOT drain the water out during the spin...

The timer will always advance to the next program if the machine does not fully drain. There is ALWAYS a spin when draining the water out, there is only one pump and one motor. The waterlogged laundry maybe telling the timer that there is still water in the tub. Put the machine on "Spin" and cheat the lid switch into thinking that the lid is closed. Use a clothes peg or wide ended screwdriver and see if there really is a spin....

Well when it spins it makes a noise but not the whole time the it stops and starts again only during spin cycle.

Hello,
If you put it onto just the drain cycle does it still make the noise without the drum spinning,if so then you can expect to find something stuck in the pump.If it is only doing it on the spin cycle then something has found its way into the drum.
Check the pump end first.

Hope this helps.

You may have something inside the pump, blocking the progress of the draining Their are screws under the bottom you remove to get the bottom plate off c1a7e9d.jpg330474c.jpg
