Sansa e250 froze

I a bad track on my mp3 so i tried formating it so all the songs would delete. then i couldnt so i had to change the usb mode to msc and then when i turned on the mp3 it froze.

These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

Freezing up while playing songs Check and see if there is a boot file in any of the folders on the player use the Explorer to check Check both MTP and MSC modes and unhook your player
Delete songs and Format (Helps with try to delete BAD TRACKS and folders that will not delete(Some ripped CD folders).. Go to my computer scroll to sansa or your MP3 player and open the music folder and open each sub folder and delete Songs manually then delete the folders them selfs then format a couple of times hope this works

Sansa E 250 bad track

On your e250, go to the "Settings" menu, select "USB Mode", and set it to "MSC". Then connect your e250 to your computer. It show up under My Computer as a "removable disk". Right click on it and select "Format". Click on the "Start" button, making sure that Quick Format is NOT checked. Wait for the formatting to complete, unplug your e250, wait for it to reboot (or force it to reboot if necessary), plug it back in, and copy your songs back onto it.

How can I delete EVERYTHING from my Sansa E-250. I already deleted all the files from Album and Music folders. However, the device still shows some songs as bad tracks, but I can't see these when I connect...

Try this solution:
Deleting Files,Pictures,Videos,etc from MP3 Player
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer" When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there. Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible. Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete" Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want. hook it back up to you computer the select start,mycomputer,e250, right click on icon and format device

I can't erase the bad tracks

Change the connectivity to MSC mode. Settings->USB mode->MSC. Now connect it to your PC and remove the tracks if any. Reply if you need more assistance

Deleted songs still appear in the player when using the player

most of the problem is id3 tags if this happens try using other low formats like wma or download the mp3's again to delete them go to msc mode show hidden files and delete

(for some strange reason i just switch it to msc mode plug it in unplug it and they are gone ?)

BAD TRACK FOR EVERY SONG

Hi tooky. Getting a "Bad Track" message on the E250 may be an indication of memory corruption, music file corruption, or outdated subscription/license info. One solution would be to format your player in Windows Media Player (version 10 or 11): 1. Make sure your player is in MTP mode by navigating the menu as follows: Menu > Settings > USB Mode You would get a choice of "MTP" or "MSC". Please select "MTP". If your player is an "E250 Rhapsody series" player, select "Plays for Sure". 2. Plug your player to your PC and run Windows Media Player. Click on the "Sync" tab and make sure the E250 is listed. Look for the "Format" button (it would look like a "pencil" on Windows Media Player 10) and click on it. Follow the on-screen prompt. 3. Re-load your songs by either copying/pasting your songs to the player or by using Windows Media Player's "Synchronization" feature. You could also format the player while in "MSC" or "Rhapsody" mode by browsing the player in Explorer, right-clicking the drive letter corresponding to the player, then select "Format". Follow the on-screen prompts Another solution would be to update the firmware of your player by downloading the Sansa Firmware Updater using this link from the SanDisk website (instructions are found on this site as well): For standard E250 or E250R "Rhapsody Series": http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376 Make sure your player is set to MSC mode, or "Rhapsody" Mode The type of music file might also be the cause. If your music files are licensed, purchased or acquired via subscription, you may want to contact the provider for more info on how to re-download the music files. I hope this helps. Bad tracks won't delete

Have you tried updating the firmware. Even if it is the lastest edition, download the firmware manually and run the software. Then format in Windows Media player. Best Regards Keith

[Sansa e250] Deleted songs and now...

what you really have to do is: 1: Double click my computer 2:Double click Sansa e250 drive 3: Right click on the icon that looks like a disk drive and click format BE SURE TO HAVE BACKUP OF SONGS BEFORE YOU FORMAT!!!
